I haven't heard a peep about him, he's still on the team, isn't he? Aside from his 'issue' from a couple months back, I felt he was going to have a good year for us; has anyone heard anything about him?
This may be a case of no news is good news :)
I'm only speculating but it may have something to do with him fumbling all the time and generally not living up to his 5 star hype his first 3 years.
It's been said on the board before, but Grady's fumbling is completely overplayed, especially when you look at the stats. Minor has fumbled quite a bit more than Grady -- it just so happens that most of Grady's fumbles came his freshman year, and they were very timely fumbles, at that.
are that he's playing well. He will likely mix in with Moundros, and maybe play short yardage.
And let me say that I'm personally happy that I'm not hearing anything about Grady right now. That guy's created enough headlines for a while.
I expect Keven Grady's stats for each game to look something like this: 4 rushes - 11 yards - 1 td. 0 FUMBLES
Moundros will be the every-down FB for blocking and maybe a catch here and there. Grady will be used as a battering ram on short yardage.
He's not going to score a TD a game. In fact, he may not see the field much at all. If you look back at last year, he really only was the short-yardage back in the first half of the season, when Minor was banged up. When Minor got healthy, he got the short-yardage carries.
Yeah, if anything it's probably best that he keeps a low profile right now.
I still can't believe that the major recruiting service had him ranked about as high as Darren McFaddon. Imagine if he had lived up to the hype...
Saw him at the grocery store last week or the week before last.
he wasn't buying the Bo Merlot.
He's a white wine drinker and was purchasing the Carr-donnay.
[And yes, I know that was a very bad joke, but I just couldn't resist]
away from the Olde "Ron" English 800 I'm okay with it.
Pass the caforcier.
when I'm done with this glass of E & J Gallo-n wine...
Damn it, I was hoping to use a "Gallon of Carlo Rossi" joke.
Kelvin on the other hand, is showing he can play. RR says he will definitely "help us" this year. Good to hear about Kelvin and not Kevin, IMO.
it'd be great if either grady could help us. but in spite of their dad, i could care less.
"couldn't care less"
The Free Press published pictures online of the first day of practice. Grady is in the first picture, on the field at the same time as Minor. Here is link:
I can't believe that Rivals had this guy as a five star coming out of high school. His freshman year was impressive to me but ever since then he has been in the headlines for all the wrong things.
Why would his college performance have an impact on his ranking was coming out of high school? Rivals assessed what he did in high school relative to the other running backs in that year's class and determined he was worthy of five stars.
Clearly, some five-stars don't pan out (close to 65% per the analysis Brian linked to the other day), but to look back and say this guy should never have been a five-star is silly.
No, no. All the ranked players always come from the east side of the state, and all the good teams with no ranked players come from the west side. Proven fact. That's why it's weird Grady was a 5-star.
I can't believe it either! Grady had to be the first five star ever to not pan out. FUCK Rivals.
the legal system. Who knows, maybe he'll get some P.T. this year and work himself back in.
