Idk how many of you watch the office but i'm proposing that we nickname Denard Robinson "The Nard Dog" (or Dawg, im not sure what the correct spelling is) in honor of Andy Bernard

Denard Robinson Nickname Proposal
All in favor? All opposed?
The nays have it.
Shoelaces. Although I love the Office, it's really hard to top Shoelaces.
LOVE the Office... but Shoelace (I believe it's singular, not "Shoelaces") is gold, Jerry, GOLD!
I'm not entirely sure where it came from or he's going with it... but I sincerely hope we never find out.
Shoelace Robinson. Sounds like a Depression-era Delta blues guitarist.
it took him a long time before he learned to tie his shoes and thats where that nick name came from.
Does that mean hes going to have trouble with the playbook? Is he going to make wrong decisions in the pocket??!?!?!?! OMG?!?!?!
I'm quite sure it came from the fact that he never ties his shoelaces... just sayin...
It sound's like a depression era Negro League Baseball player. At that time they all had crazy nicknames like that. In fact i believe one was Shoeless Joe Jackson because of his speed. Remeber shoeless can switch off the lights and be in bed before the lights go out.
...I'm sure this is just an oversight on your part, but Shoeless Joe Jackson was a part of the Black Sox scandal in 1919 and was permanently banned from baseball as a result.
He never played in the Negro League.
Jackson was a white player and was among those implicated in the 1919 Black Sox scandal. The guy that the quote "he was so fast he could switch out the light..." was about was Negro League star outfielder Cool Papa Bell. That quote has widely been attributed to Satchel Paige, another Negro League star.
Sorry your right they were actually meant to be 2 separate statements. The Negro League nicknames like Scrappy, Cool papa, and Bullet, then Shoeless Joe. I didn't realize he was part of the 1919 White Sox though. I guess you learn something new everyday. I had heard of Cool Papa but for some reason always heard the light thing about shoeless. I heard that's why he was called shoeless he was so fast he ran out of his shoes, but i could be wrong on that too.
Pretty funny.
It won't catch on, but I'm going to say it to people who don't know what I'm talking about to be obnoxious.
Brilliant.
No no no.
We call him D-Rob. Terrance Robinson is T-Rob. Greg Robinson is G-Rob. Then combined we call them the Three Robs.
Is there a Dick-Rob joke in here somewhere?
Marvin feels left out.
As does JRob.
However I don't mind saying a defender got nard dawged if he gets shaken out of his shoes by Robinson
LOL...that is the funniest sh*t I've read in a long time. Good going.
Since we may have a platoon system with Tate and Denard, I propose we combine their names. They will be called Tatard Robincier. It will be like Bradjelina or Bennifer.
For all of you who are confused, he got the nickname "Shoelace", because he's so fast that when he blows by the defender, their only chance of bringing him down is diving at his shoelace.
good thinking love Nard Dawg!!! Thats gotta stick.
We could try something clever like in Pittsburgh with their RB, because Denard is fast we could use "Fast Denard Robinson" or "Bree-Z" because when he runs by all you can feel is the wind. "Off goes Bree-Z, he makes you feel cooler than a polar bears toe nails."
I'm sorry, but I can't get over the fact that the word "Nards" was slang for testicles in the movie Monster Squad...
It is, I think, pretty common slang for nuts. And, I'm pretty sure the Office writers knew that. That's a wheelhouse joke for them--giving yourself a nickname that sounds cool but is actually unflattering.
I would like to propose respectfully that we do not inflict upon one of our prize freshman recruits a nickname that implies he's enthusiastic about men's testes. NTTAWTT.
Chrisgocomment has been posting NARD DOG in threads since Denard committed.
Here's one of many.

The Dread Pirate Robinson?
I know we frown on duplicate threads, but when one reaches the 18-month vintage, you don't have to dredge it up.
