Denard Robinson is Fast Comment Count

Also: water wet.

One Denard Xavier Robinson is not only a quarterback for the University of Michigan football team, but a scary-fast dude who runs track for the Wolverines as well. Today (seriously, less than an hour ago), Denard raced in the 60 meter dash against Ohio State WITH HIS SHOES UNTIED OMG. I'll let the video speak for itself:

He's the be-dreadlocked dude in the 4th lane, winning the race in a time of 6.81 seconds.

The meet was packed, and I'm sure much of the excitement was about Denard's performance this afternoon. Nearly every Michigan football coach and about half the team was in attendance, along with some football recruits, in addition to members of various other Michigan teams (shout out to women's basketball, who stood right near me). Paul also got some pics:

Sorry if some of them are blurry, he's just too fast for any shutter speed.

You start off with a Yankees logo as your avatar. Where I come from, that is grounds for justifiable homicide. Then, you suggest that Devin Gardner is a future transfer? Amigo, that puts you in the ultra-rare Drew Sharpton category of stupid-things-I'm-not-gonna-let-you-forget. It was Drew Sharpton who, just a few weeks ago, with football season concluding was talking about how it had come time for Denard Robinson to think about where HE might start looking around to transfer. That was right before Denard registered for the Spring semester, and started to have a blast, running track for the fun of it. At. Michigan. By the way, I want to assure you that putting "the Over-Under" on a stupid statement doesn't make it funny.

You think someone who was around for haloscan, signed up for MGoBlog 2.0 the day it launched, pretended to be a Michigan fan for years as a secret ploy to launch his troll attack on January 16, 2010? I think Emo has officially gotten this board so riled up that anyone who makes any sort of joke, even if it's not a great one, is automatically a troll.

Isn't there a difference between braids and dreadlocks? I thought "dreadlocks" only referred to the lumpy, smelly things that form naturally after many months of never washing your hair. I'm pretty sure the guys on the team just have regular braids.

...with my wife in bed at 5.75 seconds and I am only wearing white socks! just saying... Oh, and I take it he won the race. No one said where he finished but the pictures seem to show he won.

If we can get this kid the ball in stride in space anywhere on the field he is a legitimate homerun threat every play. He could be every bit a Harvin if we can just unleash him from the shackles of having to back-up at qb. I am sure that Robinson is aware that his future as a professional lies on the perimeter, not as a qb. He could certainly be one of the most electifying players we have had in a while.

Man, we have to find a way to get Denard on the field when he isn't playing QB. Having him on the sidelines is a waste of rare talent.

I brought my boys to the kids' clinic before the meet and it was a blast. We stuck around for the events and had a good time. Ended up walking out right next to Coach Rodriguez, but I couldn't think of anything to say to him, so I just smiled and pointed him out to my boys. I thought I had an exclusive video for once, but Tim beat me to it! Here's an alternate view from a bit further down the track and higher up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0UU_MY8xzw

Oh c'mon, there's plenty of humor around these parts. Poking a hornet's nest in an obvious "hey, look at me" attempt to get a reaction is not the same thing as being truly funny.
