It wasn’t just a booboo:

So much for Michigan’s best shot at a dragon target, a thing Borges missed since Hemingway graduated and which is probably not replaceable with anyone on the current roster. Michigan still has Gallon and Chesson and Dileo, and supposedly Joe Reynolds can produce, but Darboh was the guy on everyone’s list for non-Kalis breakout offensive player. It sucks.

Silver lining: more targets for Dileo and tight ends. Gold lining: your 2016 receivers could be senior Darboh and Chesson, junior Drake Harris and sophomore George Campbell.

Darboh probably wasn't going to be Braylon this year, but it's been sometime since we've had a great outside WR: Manningham and Arrington kind of. I wouldn't even throw Jr in there because he was basically just a jumpball specialist. I hope Chesson and/or a freshman is ready to step up

Manningham was excellent, but Arrington and Hemingway are in the same realm. Arrington had the advantage of playing with a quarterback who could throw the ball functionally. Hemingway's numbers could have been significantly better with a solid quarterback, but 34 catches for 699 yards and 4 touchdowns is pretty comparable (considering context) to Arrington's best year of 67 catches, 882 yards, and 8 touchdowns.

I didn't have a good feeling about this season even before this injury. 7-5 is a real possibility.

Maybe this allows a true freshman a chance to get some looks as the season progresses. I refuse to look at this negatively

Well, that's a kick in the juggs.

Weirdly, though, this might be helpful in spacing out some of the WRs the next couple of years.  And maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but with Funchess and Galon I felt like there are enough targets near the endzone to compensate for this loss.

I think we have 3 freshman WRs this year and 3 in the 2014 class so I dont think the spacing is an issue.  If anything we needed some guys now to step up this year since other than Dileo and Gallon it is very thin out there.  Maybe one of the true freshman can separate.
