Got up at 2:30am (living in Sweden temporarily) to watch the game via whatever internet stream I could find, and it was 100% pure pixelated Colombian awesome. Today is going to be the best 9 hours of work with no sleep (well, about two hours thanks to the Masters as well) I've ever done. And I get to do it all over again Sunday morning! Woooooooooo!!!!!

I'm living in Västerås on a job assignment (only through the end of June most likely). I came over the same night we played Colorado College and managed to hijack the wireless in the Stockholm-Arlanda airport long enough to find out the score and celebrate in front of a plane worth of confused Europeans at 8am in the passport control line.

It makes me sad when I tell people about his conquests in Ann Arbor (and elsewhere in the college hockey landscape) and they have no idea who he is. All they ask me is if he'll play in the NHL when he's done with college.

Maybe if I travel to Södertälje (roughly an hour away from where I am) they'll have an idea of who he is, but since he never played in the Elitserien, he's probably very much an under-the-radar guy to all but the most die hard Swedish hockey fans. Though I'm trying to drum up interest in him amongst my co-workers by bringing him up in conversation as much as possible.

Today is the best day ever. Locked down an internship at NASA this summer, and I got to see us win in a national semifinal game while drinking siroop wafel liqueur from the Netherlands that my mom picked up for me. Also lots of beers. I can't see straight. Like I said, best day ever.

Also, my roommate is a badass. He's cool. Take my word for it.

I'm currently waiting on NASA to tell me if I have a spot or not.

It's difficult to not celebrate right now. I've had one drink in the past month and senior design and a project class finish out in the middle of next week.

I'll do my level best to contain what I'm feeling now and hold it in for two weeks. Then I'll probably drink for 40 hours straight.

My wife used to work at Ames and we lived in Mountain View.  Hit the Tied House for some after work drinking (I'm sure your co-workers will take you there).  Plenty of great activities in the area during the summer.  Stanford is about 5 miles away and the city of Palo Alto is really nice.  Monterey/Carmel is 90 minutes away.  Have a great summer.

I have a cousin at Boeing, but he can't do shit to help me out and neither can my cousin at NAVSEA. I'm Aerospace, anyway, so the industry apparently hates me.

I applied for 9 spots at Goddard (and yes, the lady friend's presence in DC for the summer did indeed influence this), a couple of spots at Kennedy, one at Houston, and one at White Sands in Las Cruces (which would be awesome for field work, but in the middle of BFE).

I'm gonna be honest, I know jack shit about aerospace engineering. I'll be working on air-traffic control computer-sciency stuff. I've been to White Sands though, and the sand is indeed white. (I didn't see any actual facilities there, just the sand.) You don't notice the B-2's flying over you until they're already gone, which every Michigan fan at the big chill would know now I guess.

100% Pure Colombian Awesome:

- Hunwick.

- Team ability to quickly clear the zone. There were only two scary moments in the final period, around 6 minutes and the of course the final  minute before the empty netter where UND got wicked repetitive looks.

- Red and his gameplan. Lockdown BABY!

- The lesser, not as talented, outclassed, outmanned team WON! Take that Barry, eh!
