Crazy Late Dorsey/Parker Switch Comment Count

Brian

Going into today everyone expected that Michigan would pick up Sean Parker and lose out on Demar Dorsey, but this has now reversed itself. TomVH on the twitters:

Take this FWIW, but I just talked to a source that has heard Demar Dorsey will be choosing Michigan tomorrow.

There's confirmation elsewhere if you've got the premium. Meanwhile, the latest tea leaves on Sean Parker say "Washington… seriously, Washington":

The same sources that tipped us that Harbor City (Cal.) Narbonne four-star safety Sean Parker has had a late change of heart and they feel he will likely pick Washington tomorrow over Michigan and USC. That is the latest at this time.

This is so late-breaking that an 8PM post on a Seattle Times blog cites a plugged-in Allen Wallace dismissing UW's chances of adding Parker.

I don't care as long as Michigan gets one of them, but if Parker does choose Washington at 10 AM there will be an uncomfortable wait until Dorsey's 1PM press conference.

From a strictly logistic standpoint, Dorsey would be the preferred choice if we had to pick one. We've got players like Parker - it's the speed demon in centerfield that we've been missing. Personally though, this stings. Parker was/is one of my favorite recruits in this year's class, and I'm going to be really disappointed if he commits to Washington. He's a great kid with a good head on his shoulders, and he handled his recruitment the way it should be handled. I'll be rooting for him wherever he goes.

Ugh, Signing Day is always me bouncing back and forth between "YES Michigan might sign so-and-so!" to "Wow I'm creepy, I'm obsessively watching 18 year olds making collegiate decisions". But yes, I agree, I'll take either, as long as we can get one. Don't really care who, both are highly rated prospects, both plays that ridiculous position of need.

They told him that if he wanted to visit other schools, then they couldn't promise him a spot in their class. There aren't many schools that can afford to tell a 5-star (ESPN) that right now, but Florida is one of them. I don't see this as a Will Campbell-type situation, where he's just having some fun. Florida might well have closed the door, or told him he would have to wait and see if they have room for him. That, and the fact that a mere seven months from now he really could be starting at safety for Michigan on national television at Notre Dame, as opposed to maybe redshirting (I presume) at Florida or starting for an FSU program that is at least two years behind Michigan in terms of development, make me think it's possible he could go Blue. I don't really expect it, but I believe it's possible.

I skipped class all day 2 years ago to hear "Everyone Murders" delay his decision (just to have pick tOSU), I should have learned my lesson...but I didn't! Sorry Epidemiology, but you take a back seat to barely-adult-men making collegiate decisions! Let the creeping come to its zenith: it's signing day! (Oh, and PLEASE can we get at least one of them, for the love of all things Maize and Blue?)

Honestly, I am fully expecting Sean Parker to wakeup tomorrow with Michigan on his mind, and from that, sign with Michigan. Then three hours later, I expect Demar Dorsey to shock the world and sign with Michigan. I don't know, that's just the feeling I have, and, well, I know I can easily be wrong, though for some reason, I just feel as if it'll happen. Very lame, I know.

I think when Parker sleeps on his decision he's going to flip to Michigan. I had a feeling about Dorsey for the last week or so. Why wouldn't he just commit to FSU earlier? I hope we get both. That will really be a great way to end Rich Rod's best class.

Apparently Dorsey has also been telling people that he'll sign with USC and FSU as well. Maybe he can clone himself and play for all three.

Yesterday, based on credible information, that Dorsey is Blue. I am sticking by it. Don't worry guys, he's coming to Michigan. While I can't speak to the validity of whether or not he told Michigan, USC, or FSU players, I will say this. My information stems from pretty credible sources regarding the matter. No, I won't go into detail or reveal those sources. But I will say this. It's safe to say that the information source is a better recruiter than Toney Clemons. Go Blue

two weeks ago when Parker was the sure thing in the bag and Demar Dorsey was a ridiculous, he-ain't-coming-here-you-dope longshot.
