"Northwestern fans can be both heartened and disheartened by the loss to Minnesota just like how nineteenth-century resurrectionists were heartened when they pried a heart from a freshly-buried corpse and then disheartened it when they sold it to a disreputable anatomist."
CFN has posted their All Big Ten list.
- Tate gets the player of the year award, which is correct if it's a "most valuable to his team" award. But it isn't if it's a "best player overall," because that was Braylon.
- Hart, Edwards, Massaquoi, Baas, Jackson, and Shazor are on the team from Michigan. Massaquoi had a pretty good year but it's hard to believe he's the best TE in the Big Ten. Everyone else was obvious chalk. Watson was their #5 defensive lineman, and it's pretty hard to argue with the two Iowa guys and two Wisconsin guys on their list.
- Adam Finley the fifth best K/P in the conference? How many blocked/boomed into the endzone punts do you need to see before you declare someone Not Good? Rivas was better this year, and he missed four extra points.
- I would have put Maroney in front of Herron, but I do respect Herron a lot.
Anyway, it's a good list overall.
