The Great Oregon-Southern Cal Debate lasted all of one week and ended in a highly satisfactory fashion for bloggers who did not automatically look at the Trojan on the helmet and slot them in ahead of a team that had just steamrolled them: the same team that handed Oregon a two-score loss then opened up the proverbial can on USC.

There does remain one blog win versus the mainstream folks: bloggers remember that 1) Penn State's best win is over Northwestern and 2) Iowa's is over Penn State. Yes, at this point the Blogpoll should be part of the BCS. I give up. The only worse idea is the current one.

Rest of it at CBS Sports. Tim's final ballot after the jump.

Last week's ballot

Dropped Out: Houston (#12), Texas Tech (#23).

Just a few changes from the draft ballot:

Moved Clemson in at position #25. They've been on a roll lately, and have actually put together a pretty decent resume. I also looked at North Carolina for that spot, and both teams will get more in-depth consideration in future weeks.

With Clemson moving in, I thought it fair to move TCU up to spot #4. There could even be an argument for them breaking into that top-3 group. Cincinnati isn't far behind them still, and the Bearcats still have a resume-builder against Pitt coming up.

I moved Penn State down a few spots, and moved Iowa up a couple, because the Nittany Lions really haven't done a whole lot this year. They've lost to the only legit teams they've played, basically. They also looked like hell at home against Indiana. Iowa, on the other hand, has one heck of a strength of schedule, and has only lost with its starting QB out, and one of those contests was on the road against a top-10 team.

Part of the reason for overrating Penn State was a fear of moving Stanford too high, because they have a really bad loss (Wake Forest) on their resume. I decided that pounding two of the more talented teams in the country over the past couple weeks was enough to make up for that.

Thanks to everyone who commented, because it really helped me fine-tune the ballot. Hopefully next week, my draft won't be so hastily thrown together.
