I know you're busy, but the list of blogs covered needs to be updated at CBS. It includes VB and doesn't include MnB. I would guess that it just hasn't been updated for this season, just a head's up. Also, can you put in a new picture at CBS? The bald headed silhoutte really throws me off considering your abundance of flowing locks. Maybe Shredder can MS Paint the same image with just some extra hair. Or maybe you just want to pick one of the current paint masterpieces. Just a thought.

I get why BHGP was spiked, but really, DocSat's ballot is based on us "knowing" that a team like Virginia Tech is good, so Alabama is #1 on his ballot. But how do we "know" that VaTech is good? They usually have a lousy offense and a great defense to go with consistently some of the best special teams in college football. They showed an even more lousy offense than expected and Alabama, a team replacing its QB, RB, and a few linemen (I believe), utterly shredded that defense, so I have a hard time believing that VT's defense is anything resembling great. So how do we know that was actually a really good win by Bama? Isn't it just as possible that they beat a team that may not even finish in the Top 25, or will only do so by virtue of being in a conference that just had two squads lose to 1-AA teams and had a losing record on opening weekend? I think BHGP is right that the way the "resume" rankers do it in the early season is inconsistent with their own philosophy of ranking based on what you have done, because it necessarily requires a pre-judgment on the quality of the opposition for the first few weeks. Spike them all or spike none of them, at least until week 3 or 4 when there's actual data.

But you don't have to make the case to Brian. He made it himself. From last year's week 1 Blogpoll rundown (http://mgoblog.com/content/blogpoll-week-1-0): "[DocSat Resume Ranking] is supposed to bat away the preconceived notions that feature heavily in things like the coaches poll (hello, preseason ranking of Michigan) and result in a crystal-pure poll, but it just removes the assumptions to another level. Okay, Kentucky beat Louisville. Who says Louisville isn’t going 3-9? Or Pitt or—dammit—Michigan for that matter?" Let's forget for a moment that the prediction was Nostradamus-like and get to the real point: Brian knows deep down that we're right. He acknowledged as much, not only last season but in the poll itself. The BHGPoll is a stunt in the same way that Lenin was a prankster. THE REVOLUTION IS HERE. FOLLOW ME TO FREEDOM. (Oh no, I've turned into one of the WLA guys, haven't I?)
