Dropped Out: Colorado (#17), East Carolina (#18), Miami (Florida) (#20), UNLV (#22), Kansas (#24).

First let's celebrate by punching me in the face for submitting this Monday and forgetting to post it. Some notes:

Notes and such: Alabama is #1 and I don't see how anyone can vote for anyone else since they've basically done to Clemson and Georgia what Oklahoma's been doing to Cincinnati and TCU.

Penn State moves up past Missouri and some others on the strength of their win against Illinois and the Beavers' win over USC. South Florida? Well… you find someone else for the top ten that's not got some hideous thing.

Texas Tech has played Eastern Washington, Nevada, SMU, and UMass. Screw those guys. I ain't putting them in the top ten.

Is BYU really #8? Is Utah-BYU going to be one of the biggest games of the year? Is there really a section that reads "Northwestern-Vanderbilt-UConn-Maryland"? WHAT IS GOING ON?

Hard to believe you would ever have a top 25 that has: Northwestern, Vandy, MSU, Wake Forest, Connecticut and NO MICHIGAN.  The times they are a-changin'.

Agreed on the 'Bama as #1.  I mean, come on they went into Athens and gave Georgia a prison style ass pounding.  Impressive.

For the Bama Vote. They have to be #1 right now. Five weeks of the season and in two of them, they have been involved in the marquee game. And rolled to victory.

Dont worry about the TT ranking. They are this year's Hawaii. But, unlike the 'Bows, the Red Raiders will eventually get tested in the Uber-tough Big 12. If they keep winning, I am sure you and others will rank them accordingly. Until then, however, way too many teams have a better resume.

The bottom five of your ballot sure looks a lot like a basketball poll.

And, yes, BYU-Utah will be huge....if they keep winning, of course.

...for putting Penn State above Missouri. They've clearly outperformed them thus far. I'm not sure either of them should be ranked that high, but whatcha gonna do...

I would maybe go with LSU above them. Texas hasn't earned it due to their schedule (not their fault that Arkansas is THIS bad, but they are anyway).

Oklahoma State seems a bit high. Putting up lots of points, but who've they played? NU's Duke victory is more impressive than anything on OSU's resume.

Generally, I think your ballot is right on.

.....what is more shocking: the fact that someone said NW's vicotry over Duke is impressive......or the fact that the statement is 100% true!!!

Here's the current state of the ACC: This week's Duke-GT game is the most intriguing matchup in the league this weekend. And it takes place on the same day as Miami-FSU.

In previous years I was sold on the whole "SEC pwns" argument, but this year not so much.  Yes, the SEC did real well in the opening weeks against non conference opponents, but as the season has progressed, some of the teams that they faced just flat out bad.  If you look at the SEC teams in the top 25, the only one that looks remotely credible is Alabama.  LSU has no reason to be in the top 5, they haven't beaten anyone except Auburn and I will get to them next.  Auburn has struggled mightily against lesser opponents and I think it has become more of the rule instead of the exception.  Georgia has been the same way. Also, for a Florida team to lose at home to Ole Miss just isn't right.  Don't get me wrong, I still believe that the SEC is a good conference, but unworthy of all the hype they are getting this season.  This is how the SEC looks IMHO.

#2 Alabama

#6 LSU

#15 Georgia

#16 Florida

#21 Auburn

I think this will be the year that the Big 12 reigns supreme.
