So. With 14 seconds left Anthony Wright threw a perfect backdoor pass to Deshawn Sims and the table got up and roared and Michigan basketball returned after a long exile. No matter how the Duke game turns out, you should go.

Tuesday. Norfolk State. 8:30 PM. Tickets here.

Muppets!

And, of course, you can't have one without the other…

Stu Douglass: that was a terrible, terrible shot. You are awesome.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to give a special "Fuck You" to the people who got down on Beilein because he didn't turn the team around in ONE season last year and wanted him out.

on the basis of one season of work, remember that the Basketball team last year was every bit as depleted and terrible as the football team this year, and with one recruiting cast and a similar cast of players, Beilein has them beating a top-5 team on a neutral court. Don't judge a coach on the basis of one season.

I thought UM would choke at the end but no sireee bob, they did not! Great to see the team win. Wonder if Beilein is taking the team to Scores for some lap dances to celebrate? If this team can beat Dookie I'd be pleased as punch. Duke really needs to lose. They suck sweaty donkey balls.

Year 1: Record number of losses. Established winner of a coach from WVU, struggles in first year. New coach, new system, lacking the adequate players to run it. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers, and i repeat an ungodly amount of turnovers. Has to play all of his players, many of which would never EVER play normally, including suiting up the manager (!!!!) for the last few games. Coach takes a lot of heat, some wackos say fire him after year one. hmmmmm.....who does this sound like? In year 2, defeats the #4 ranked team in the nation, and giving a big STFU to all the haters (at least for one day). Our football team is going to follow in the steps of our basketball team (!!!) and show DRAMATIC improvement in year two. Anyone who has been to a basketball game should not be surprised by this upset, granted, they should be OMG SHIRTLESS BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS GOING FUCKING APE SHIT CRAZY, but this team is good, REALLY good. They won't win the big ten and probably won't make the tournament but they will make a push for both. Football will do the exact same thing next year (hopefully at some point in the near future a tournament will replace the BCS so both statements are true).

Great win but I am a big doubter of the 1-3-1 zone. Did anybody else notice that Collison was open for the 3 every time and he passed on it every time when he should have taken the shot? I feel like something needs improvement...but definately happy to knock off the bruins were definately going places. GO BLUE

The 1-3-1 will occasionally leave guys open but it's all about forcing the other team to make perfect passes and not panic under pressure, and generally pressuring the ball -- if you don't shoot immediately then you have guys in your face, and you're usually only open for a good look on a good skip pass. If it's run well you get a crapload of turnovers out of it. It was run well tonight, UCLA had 17 turnovers to our 9, including 8 steals for us versus only 1 steal for UCLA. We didn't even shoot all that well, though UCLA has a fantastic defense under Howland. Great building block for the team. And proof that if you give a coach implementing a different but proven successful system some time, you'll start to get results. The people who need to get a life should remember this before they go berserk on RR again.

What a great game to be at. Great win, awesomeness. Place was empty, but didn't matter. God the Stu shot was ridiculous "no no no no noooo OKAY!!!" Top it off with Sims PERFECT play, just awesome.

Let's not forget that with the second semester, Laval Lucas-Perry becomes eligible, adding another dynamic scorer to floor. I noticed in the game last night the Bruins really tried to shut down Manny and luckily Stu stepped up with some nice shots. Adding Lucas-Perry should open up more dependable options for scoring.

I hope this basketball team can turn it around...I'm getting just as sick of the Beilein haters as I am the Rich Rod haters. The days of the "Fab Five" are over (That probably will never happen again in college basketball in my lifetime) but Beilein is going to put us into contention to win some conference championships and get us back into the NCAA tournament where anything can happen.

Actually I don't hope he can I KNOW he can! He's a great coach and did the same for WVU basketball as RR did for WVU football. We may not be back on top yet but it WILL happen. Cheers lets celebrate this and hope our football team takes a note on this basketball team.....no matter the point spread or what the experts are saying if you play hard and execute you can win

Tickets are super cheap right now, I got some lower bowl ones, row 6, for $15 a pop. Also, if you're a student, they are giving FREE discount tickets at the door for selected games (The upcoming Norfolk State being one of them).

Small, but dedicated group at MSG last night. It was nice to see the boys get a quality win. Michigan looked strong, quick and disciplined. I can't remember the last time I have thought such things about our B-ball team. Now let's beat the floor-slappers tonight and the Neanderthals tomorrow!

Great win for the bball team. I'm going to go ahead and say it though -- I just don't get brian's infatuation with those muppets videos. I guess they're kind of amusing, but why keep posting them? Am I missing something? Am I not quite dorky enough to understand?

I'm not sure you deserve to call yourself a Michigan fan. Hell, my five-year-old son was just pointing out this morning that the Muppets don't say "You suck!" because they are not students.

Who would of thought after last season we could play a top 5 team on a neutral court and commit just 9 turnovers. I think Manny Harris was getting close to that in some games. What a difference 1 year can make.
