Bilas is at it again. In the Det News, he is quoted by Angelique as saying that Michigan has a great shot at the Sweet 16 (http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090317/SPORTS0201/903170...).
I'm not sure what to think. I love Michigan, they're fun to watch, but so much depends on making the 3's, on Sims posting, and on Manny slashing. It is impossible for me to figure out when they will be on, and when they'll fall flat. Let's hope they're on.
Regardless, I can agree with Bilas that if Michigan is on, they can do more than one and done. Actually, from my perspective, one of the great benefits to the Tourney is for Michigan to get used to playing with a lot of pressure, and playing deep into games. (cf: Minnesota.) If Michigan can do this now, that will set them up well for next year.
Regarding next year: is there anyone at UM who will have a significant post presence? This is our achilles heel. If someone, anyone, who is 6' 10" or so can do more next year with rebounds, blocking out, put backs, etc., we will be in great shpe.
Lastly, how will the tourney affect recruiting? Is most of the recruiting already done? Does this push anyone in who was on the fence?
