I caught the audio from WTKA’s interview with Kevin Grady Sr. this morning - even though it’s not comparing apples to apples and we can poke plenty of holes in each other’s responses - I wanted to toss the idea out there asking who you feel, by the end of their Michigan ”football” career, will have a bigger positive impact. Include a point or two backing up your selection. Please base your response on the assumption that Kevin will be allowed to continue on with the football team.
Bigger Impact...Kevin or Kelvin
I think Kelvin has more room to make an impact since he has 3 more years and Kevin has 1. However, Kevin is more built and ready to play right now, I believe. That being said, I'm really excited about what Kelvin can bring to the team, he's a speedy, shifty guy, the total opposite of his brother. We need depth and athleticism and he brings both. Hopefully older bro will be around too.
a lot of good insight in that interview into Kevin and Kelvin. First of all, I didn't know it was pronounced like "Calvin". Also, while I'm glad he stayed at Michigan, I am just a little skeptical about Kelvin succeeding at football. Given that he hasn't played in two years and comes into a position that is just satiated with players that possess a similar skill set, I feel like he might get crowded out of playing time. But having seen his raw athleticism on the basketball court and in high school, he is someone to watch.
As far as Kevin, I don't think it is his legal trouble keeping him from playing time, I think it is just the whole square peg in a round hole analogy - the perception that he doesn't fit in the offense. But I really root for the guy and I think he should have a bigger role in the offense and can have success if given the chance and stays healthy. (A little discerning that his father didn't give a straight up "yes" to the question if he was going to be on the team or not.)
So Kevin has the bigger impact.
What's the deal with Kevin, anyway? I don't remember seeing an announcement that he was let go, but everyone seemed to think he was definitely gone.
He hasn't been let go, but he did violate his probation and when Rodriguez announced that Wermers was leaving the team, he said something like, "There are a couple of other guys - you know who I'm talking about - who I'm going to have to sit down with and figure out whether they have a role on this team" or something to that effect.
Yeah, i remember that, but it seems like he would have been gone by now if he was leaving.
what would be written on the jerseys? Kev Grady and Kel Grady?
Kelvin will be going OMG Shirtless!
we will be looking for Kelvin's headband.
Since it would be hard to have had much less impact than Kevin. I sort of feel bad for him given the expectations that he surely had for himself, but every program has five-star guys who just don't make it, for whatever reason. It would be great to see him have a strong senior season.
IMO neither will make much of a Impact. This year Kevin could if minor, brown, and shaw get hurt, and Kelvin is at best would make an impact in 2010 but with vincent, toussaint cox and hopefully hopkins I don't see it.
I pretty much agree. I could see Kevin getting in on some goal line situations this year, but I don't think the Grady brothers will have too much of an impact...
Their dad sounds like Bill Cosby.
has more than 10 or 11 carries the entire year (subject to your request we assume he's on the team). I see the RB pecking order as Minor, Brown, Smith and Shaw all ahead of Grady. His short yardage carries should be gobbled up by Minor barring injury. And as far as Grady "not fitting into the system", I don't think that's it all--I just don't think he's very good. Shaw and McGuffie showed far more potential last year than Grady did under Carr, the system that was supposed to fit him. That said, I see that as better than what Kelvin will do.
Well last year under RR but I agree Barring injury He may get those Short yardage Carries since he's such a big body, nothing more than that. I for one am not ready to get on the Vincent Smith band wagon yet True Frosh I think Grady is still ahead of him and shaw (I think shaw will get more carries) I think Brown will stay healthy and him and Minor will approach 1,000 yrds. Oh yeah Tate will go for 20 passing and 10 rushing TD's
I have no IDEA what you just said their.
dude needs To capitalize Proper nouns, words At the Beginning of Sentence.
A little bit of a ramble but damn if you can't understand plain English you may need to go back to high school.
Most of the caps I meant to cap the whole word to emphasize, but like you said the shift key is not my friend.
Thats why I said it was a ramble. Rambles don't need periods. They are not complete thoughts, but are just irrational blunders. They can still be understood by any brain larger than a peanut.
That's what makes it so hard to understand. Understand?
Sure more periods..........
Don't mean to be a dick, sorry.
I recommend it highly. Billy Faulkner, he could get away without it. You and I, not so much.
I agree. Punctuation is your friend. So is proofreading.
The shift key, however, is not as cool as you seem to think.
prroofredaing is ovverrated.
Five stars, nuff said.
No it's not.
We're have those 5 stars been for 3 years? deff not "nuff" said
that ratings don't matter?
Not when it comes to on the field production. Yeah I'm saying rating don't mean shit after you get on campus. You could have all the potential in the world and not pan out. Someone said earlier just look at Pat White 3* and compare him to a Ryan Mallet 5* (I think 5th overall) Who would you rather have on your team?
He still has eligibility.
fine replace White with McCoy both were 3* to Mallets 5*. Now choose.
that my sarcasm meter might have gone on the fritz. Damn thing keeps going out on me. Anyone know where I can buy a good replacement?
"We're have those 5 stars been for 3 years?"
a total of 15 stars?
We are have those 5 stars been...
Relax it was edited and I didn't change it and by the time I realized well just shut up!
look when you Type Like This its pretty hard to understand mostly because its Really Hard On The Eyes and there is No punctuation to speak of amirite?
I had no problem reading that. Maybe you need laser eye surgery?
That's because you're clearly the most intelligent poster on this board. For those of us who are of inferior intellect (more dumber) than you who don't like to reread your posts a few times, hold off on the goofy encryption.
Write like a human being.
Just remember you said it not me!
how are names on the back going to be displayed?
Little Grady, Big Grady.
Penn and Teller
Well since they were both spawned from the devil himself, i cant imagine either of them being any help in the fall. (I've met their dad a couple of times and am from the same area, very bad reputation. and he takes his anger out on servers when his ribs were too burnt at the T.G.I. Fridays in Kentwood. i dislike this man along with a majority of West Michigan)
This is not the first time you've made a hateful remark about that family. You sound like a very bitter person.
It's Friday man, chill a bit.
Relax take off work early buy a few grams and chill the fuck out.
Kelvin has 3 years left. Kevin has one, and will probably barely be used this year as a situational back (if he even plays this year). So, by default, Kelvin has a better chance to contribute.
*unwraps brand new sarcasm meter*
"hmmm, lets see if this thing works."
*points it directly at WolvinLA's post*
*BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!*
"Whoah! off the charts! Awesome!"
Hey neb, you can have my old meter if you like. It still works.
