Bigger Impact...Kevin or Kelvin

I caught the audio from WTKA’s interview with Kevin Grady Sr. this morning - even though it’s not comparing apples to apples and we can poke plenty of holes in each other’s responses - I wanted to toss the idea out there asking who you feel, by the end of their Michigan ”football” career, will have a bigger positive impact. Include a point or two backing up your selection. Please base your response on the assumption that Kevin will be allowed to continue on with the football team.

I think Kelvin has more room to make an impact since he has 3 more years and Kevin has 1. However, Kevin is more built and ready to play right now, I believe. That being said, I'm really excited about what Kelvin can bring to the team, he's a speedy, shifty guy, the total opposite of his brother. We need depth and athleticism and he brings both. Hopefully older bro will be around too.

a lot of good insight in that interview into Kevin and Kelvin. First of all, I didn't know it was pronounced like "Calvin". Also, while I'm glad he stayed at Michigan, I am just a little skeptical about Kelvin succeeding at football. Given that he hasn't played in two years and comes into a position that is just satiated with players that possess a similar skill set, I feel like he might get crowded out of playing time. But having seen his raw athleticism on the basketball court and in high school, he is someone to watch.

As far as Kevin, I don't think it is his legal trouble keeping him from playing time, I think it is just the whole square peg in a round hole analogy - the perception that he doesn't fit in the offense. But I really root for the guy and I think he should have a bigger role in the offense and can have success if given the chance and stays healthy. (A little discerning that his father didn't give a straight up "yes" to the question if he was going to be on the team or not.)

So Kevin has the bigger impact.

Since it would be hard to have had much less impact than Kevin. I sort of feel bad for him given the expectations that he surely had for himself, but every program has five-star guys who just don't make it, for whatever reason. It would be great to see him have a strong senior season.

His short yardage carries should be gobbled up by Minor barring injury. And as far as Grady "not fitting into the system", I don't think that's it all--I just don't think he's very good. Shaw and McGuffie showed far more potential last year than Grady did under Carr, the system that was supposed to fit him. That said, I see that as better than what Kelvin will do.
