WOOOOOOOOO NOVAK/DOUGLASS BANNER IS GO

WOOOOO THIS GUY IS SAD

2012-March-4-18-26-50[1]

WOOO I HAD TIME TO GET A PHD BETWEEN BUFORD HITTING THAT SHOT AND THE GAME OFFICIALLY ENDING

WOOOO DOES ANYONE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT POSTMODERN ARCHITECTURE

And you can't have one without the other...

Beilein and company just killed a lot of nasty streaks in one year. Congratulations. Next year Michigan quadruples its number of consensus four-stars on the roster; this kind of thing is going to be the norm.

BONUS: Kellen Russell is Michigan's first ever four time Big Ten wrestling champion.

Yes!  GO BLUE!

Also, seems the general feelings around msu-land are 1) Delany/referee conspiracy theory against msu and 2) Michigan backed into a shared championship, just like backing into a BCS game.  Ironically, both time Michigan "backed into" good fortune, it was because msu couldn't close.  Hey, next time you accuse a team of backing into anything, take care of your own d*** business first.

Each of the three co-champs were 1-1 against each of the others. Then they each had the same 11-3 record for all other Big Ten games.

This isn't like Sparty's football co-championship because they didn't play OSU. I don't see how any of those three deserves it any more or less than anyone else.

What makes the schadenfreude even sweeter is realizing that what was perhaps MSU's best ever combined football/basketball year was capped off by late game collapses to lose undisputed conference championships. Wasn't this game just the basketball version of the B1G Championship game?

This team never lost 2 games in a row! Thats consistency for you and a reflection of great coaching. To illustrate how hard that is to accomplish consider that MSU lost back to back games on 3 occasions.

Sparty did what they do best, choke. Mike V (sparty slappy on 97.1) guaranteed his boyfriend Izzo wouldn't allow them to choke at home. He will be challenged on Monday and say, "I never said that, pull the tapes". They never pull the "tapes" when he gets busted. F yo couch Mikey and thank you Sparty. I am glad Michigan football is back and Sparty is done cruising through the Big Ten basketball seasons. Your Sparty football team is returning to normal days, and Izzo will be in a mental institution soon. Sparty on!

When you consider there were three possibilities going into this game: Either MSU wins, we get a share of the B1G title, or a meteor strikes Breslin, there was a 67% chance of a good outcome :)

Tri-champs? I'll think of us as being Trey-Champs.

I was hoping for Muppets after Illinois, since it had been 17 years since we won there. But then I remembered they are not our rival, they only think they are.

I would rather be Co than No.

Great job all season by the team and coaches.

Remember 4 years ago when we sat on the edge of our seats just to see if we were in.  What a great progression for this program over the last few years.

Sportscenter anchor just called Novak "Stu Novak." I think it's kinda fitting. They don't even know these guys' names yet they have led this team to a championship.

It wasn't beat up on the little ones and hope the big ones knock themselves out.  We split both MSU and OSU, swept Illinois and beat Wisconsin.  That's some great basketball right there.  No backing in.  We kicked the door down and demanded it!

WOO HOO GO BLUE!!!  (and please get sent to Greensboro so I can see you in person!)

A semiotic cul de sac of ever there was one.

I am not sure the relavance here, but it's biggest superstar of the style was Robert Venturi, architect of michigan's short lived halo, by the way.

FYI- Robert Venturi has repeatedly denied ever being a post modernist.  For whatever that is worth.

But since this is a Michigan blog, let's give a shout out to Charles Moore (Class of 1947) as one of the most exuberant practitioners of the style.  Witness the Piazza d'Italia in New Orleans (frequently cited as the "archetypal postmodern project" via Wikipedia):

is if they were repeatedly accused of something. if you write "learning from las vegas", coin the term "less is a bore", elevate conventional forms of habituation like tv antennas to ornament or turn your mother's house into a jittery mess of historical references and allusions, you just might be a postmodernist.

but i digress - WOOHOO champs

Sparty has had a home game on the final day of the season with a chance to win it outright and failed.

The first time they actually put a banner up in the rafters before the game and had to take it down and add the "Co-" on it.

“We had to share with our little nephews, and that sucks,” junior center Derrick Nix said.

“Get ready for the Big Ten Tournament,” Izzo said to the fans after the game. “We’re gonna go win our championship back”
