You know, this is weird as can be. But in all honesty I didn't really think Shavodrick Beaver was the answer at qb. He didn't have a great arm, didn't seem to have turbo speed (at least when I saw him play on tv), and he was sort of tiny. So I thought, at best, he might be a capable backup to someone more developed and polished in a couple of years. Maybe it was the right choice for him to go to CUSA?
On a different note, though, this whole commit/decommit thing is becoming tiresome and strange. I guess what's happening (it seems) is players are now doing one of two things. 1) Committing, and then coming to grips with the fact that they'll be far from home for the foreseeable future. This scares them etc., especially if they don't have a ton of money to fly home when they want; 2) They take a good offer and then ride it until they get one they like better. This leaves the coaches in the lurch and makes the whole idea of pre-signing day commitments absurd.
In any case, this kid Beaver seems like an odd duck. But it's not the end of the world.
