Angelo Hadley committed to North Carolina today. This is the teammate of Mywan Jackson, Michigan target. They both seem very close, so we'll see what happens with Jackson. Both North Carolina and Michigan are in his top schools left.
Angelo Hadley to UNC
Aren't they pretty full? I am thinking (or hoping) that Jackson or Travis Bond ends up at Michigan due to space.
Yea they are. I'm not to familiar with Butch Davis' recruiting ways. I think Brian has mentioned something before about possibly overloading like Alabama. We'll see, I haven't heard anything.
Who else you think we are realistically looking at in this class? I can understand not commenting on Jelani Jenkins as he's such a wildcard (plus sounds pretty impressed by Florida already). Just curious because you have more insight than most of us.
Is it far-fetched to think maybe we end with:
I think William Campbell, Quinton Washington, Travis Bond, and Travante Stallworth are our best bets out of that list.
I don't have any insight into what Jayron Hosley is thinking, so that's a toss up for me.
Dan Mason said in a Rivals article that Pittsburgh, Penn State, and West Virginia were for sure getting visits. He then mentioned Michigan as coming on strong, and he might visit, so that's not very strong for me. BUT, I do know the coaches are working him.
Mason doesn't have an offer yet but plans on visiting. With the Barnes seeya and a seeming need a MLB I think he gets an offer, and MGoBlog Heuristic #4 is if there's a team on your short list you don't have an offer from and they come through with one, that team is in good shape.
As far as the finish, IMO:
1. Will Campbell
3. Stallworth/other WR
4. Ankrah/McPhee/Logan/other DE
5. Jackson/Hosley/other CB
I think they can take up to seven if they want to; I'm hoping Mason fills in one of the ? spots and they pull a surprise somewhere.
This seems like the best bet. I'm sure if two of Washington/Bond/Freeman want to come, they'd take them both. And I agree with you on Mason, on both fronts.
It seems to be narrowing down on the DE and CB fronts, though. Michigan is apparently 3rd in the 3-team race for Ankrah, it's starting to look like the SEC will hold onto both McPhee and Logan...I wouldn't be surprised if (assuming his grades are in order) Dylan Farrington gets the call from Michigan.
I'm just guessing here, but I suspect Hosley will be our best bet at adding another quality corner. Just a gut feeling, no inside info or anything, but I suspect Mywan Jackson will follow Hadley to UNC, and we all know Mike Edwards isn't happening.
Is Chris Freeman still looking at michigan. I realize hes only 3 stars, but hes also gimassive and is pretty new to football. from wut iv read hes a project but his upside is huge.
Je'Ron Stokes is a possibility. Seems he still has interest in Michigan as he's not too thrilled with Kiffin as the new Tenn coach.
Great input. As much as I'd like to daydream and think Michigan will grab the likes of Jenkins, Patrick, etc I just don't see those happening. The lists above seem very realistic. Seems like LB will be the unknown as it is a need, there are some good ones still uncomitted, and the staff isn't tipping their hand so to speak on the position. Maybe we will get a nice surprise like last year because until the LOI's are signed nothing is a sure bet.
