so much for that
And Yea, Moses Came Down Bearing Tablets
Everyone said stuff about the Fab Five next, and a few people bugged me for muppets. I'm not going to celebrate sportswriters voting on something, but…
Ace and I were doing a podcast and it came up that the Illinois game came on the anniversary of the Aneurysm of Leadership from which a line straight up to this point can be drawn. Ace suggested this should be memorialized.
It shall be so.
The font of all excellence.
...but it is glorious. I think the awesomeness of it all was best expressed by Eamonn Brennan in an ESPN.com article:
"Beilein said after Michigan's win at Illinois Sunday night, for fans, a No. 1 ranking would be a sign of how far the Wolverines have come. How all the nonsense they had to endure for more than a decade is finally, mercifully behind them."
Denard's 2010 was spent redefining what one man can do.
I would love to see Novak come back to Michigan at some point as a coach. He exudes passion and leadership (and gritty grit).
"Relax you panic monger" -Megatron
it'd be really great if novak and stu could come back for a game this year. they'd get a standing O.
Novak is one of few Michigan players I like but I love this kid when he was playing and watching the passion he was playing with. Good find with the youtube video, I'll have to add this to my favorties. Any updates on him? Last I heard he was playing basketball across seas and worked something out with a professor to get his masters if I'm not mistaken.
Hello Charles Woodson, now give me the ball on offense. - Brent Musburger
has anyone managed to figure out what novak is yelling? we should get that fangraphs guy who did the lipreading of the umpire/manager arguments on this.
I bleed Blue & Gray and Maize & Blue
He's done some interviews with UMHoops.com that are a worthwhile read.
Former Buckeye Antonio Pittman on being a poster child for compliance: "This osu tattoo stuff is silly. Cats been getting hookups on tatts since back in '01."
I'll be at my step sister's wedding Saturday night. Just sayin.

I am just praying the Hating Number 1 Gods don't rain down on the Maize with rage like they have on all the other Number 1s this year!!! Go Blue!

Honestly, I can't help but almost tear up seeing this. After all we've been through as a program, having been either in Crisler or parked in front of my TV as a kid, student, and now alum for the entirety of the run, who can remember where I was when Chris Webber called the timeout, who saw the skid mark from Maurice Taylor's Explorer on the freeway median in '96, who sat through the worst of the Ellerbe years wearing a Josh Moore jersey, who bought the Amaker hype only to stand around in an empty student section when the bottom fell out and nothing worked...
This is perhaps the most satisfied I have ever been with anything related to Michigan athletics. I know, it's an AP vote in January, but this means something more than your avarage poll. We've been through the dark ages. The demons are exorcised. We've made it back to the top. And we're doing it the right way.
You have failed me
...drink...this is a terrible idea
The team is well coached. They hustle and play for each other, not for individual gain. They deserve to be number one and I'm glad they understand how little it means. Lets do this.
All in for some manball.
Born in '93 (birthday February 9th btw) I grew up watching a losing program Or at least since I remember when I started watching basketball.
Although I am excited and proud that Michigan is the #1 ranked team for the first time in my lifetime, all I care about is a B1G title.
I'm so looking forward to being a national contender

I clicked on the "Aneurysm of Leadership" article and read this line:
Brian was correct about that, actually. We did not end up in the NIT in 2011. We moved on to bigger things.
Since that date (Jan. 28, 2011), we are 53-16 (.769).
