Also: Darius Morris To Michigan, Finally
Filed under:

Top 100 California point guard Darius Morris, long presumed to be the lockiest of Michigan locks, finally made it official today. No googlestalking coming from these parts, as UMHoops already has it on lockdown:
I have seen a lot of people comparing Darius Morris' commitment to Daniel Horton's at the start of Tommy Amaker's tenure. Daniel Horton was a better talent than Darius Morris; Horton was a McDonalds All-American and a 5-star on most recruiting services. I think it would be very hard to craft an argument that Darius is a better player at this time than Daniel was in high school.
Much more over there; check it out.

William Campbell
What is this talk on Rivals of him being moved to OL? I mean, if you recruit the #3 DT in the country, I imagine that you don't move him to OL.

Forget about specific
Forget about specific rankings and such. Here's a top 100 player from Los Angeles - not exactly right in our backyard - committing to the Michigan basketball program. That's a big, big deal.

true but since horton was
true but since horton was recruited under tommy amaker and played under amaker, that actually meant he was really pushing 3, maybe 3.5 stars in on-court college ability. remember, you always have to make adjustments for the 'Amaker Effect'.

the fact that we've had an
the fact that we've had an extremely successful football program for going on 100 years hasn't been paying dividends on the basketball court for the last 7 years or so.
Getting a respectable stadium for hoops would probably be a better start.

It's in the budget
Martin has gone on record saying that when the stadium is finished in 2010, Chrysler is next in line.

great pickup
great pickup. Belein is slowly building a respectable program over there and that's huge. since everyone really only cares about football, here's this. having a great overall program will be very beneficial to our football team in some strange way or another. i'm confident of that.
