Alamo Bowl Tourette's

I'm trying to watch this game while fighting the instinctive urge to blurt out "PICTCHTHEDAMNBALLECKER" every few minutes. Anyone else having this problem?

Leave him alone. He's a good guy. So he panicked. Bad enough he'll never live that down.
I choose to forget that game ever existed. The memory is instant pain.

I was sitting....

During that game I was in Phoenix and playing Texas Hold 'Em at the same table as Anthony Schlegal. He and some teamates were down there for the Fiesta Bowl. I can't believe I am saying this, but he was quite cool for a Bucknut. He said that hands down, UofM was the toughest team they played every year. His exact words were that he never played a tougher back than Hart. He and I watched the game together while playing and he had some insightful comments about UofM and what they were trying to accomplish.....which we know wasn't much.

Side note: If he didn't have a bunch of teamates around, I would have told him he was a douche bag...just because.(speaking of tourettes) It is just something you can't hold in when around buckeyes. I think AJ was in the area along with Gonzales. I was bigger than all of them, but definitely not stronger or quicker. My D3 o-lineman skills would have been nothing for those three. But you can bet I thought about it.

That's a pretty cool story. I

That's a pretty cool story.

I was wondering when you said you would call him a "douche bag" what the F you were thinking.....then you say you're bigger than AJ Hawk? Dude.....you're the resident MGoBlog security guard. But really, would you have called a complete stranger a douche bag because he plays for OSU?

Well...

No, I have never called a complete stranger a douche as I am not that way. But you know how it is when you grow up a Michigan fan....those buckeye's just urk you...still do.(especially when you are losing to NEBRASKA at the time) The fact was that he was cool. Football players sometimes have a little too big of chip on their shoulders, let alone one from Ohio State, but he didn't fit that mold.

You know how it is when you are playing cards with your buddies and you are bluffing your a$$ off? That adrenaline going....believe me that when I was going to sucker him into a bet, I was really shaking. Even though I was bigger than him if he snapped I would have wet myself. Those linebackers are different birds....in a good way of course.

As for the MGOBodyguard thing, I was a bouncer at a local bar for a couple years in college. Was a fun gig, but since I am never out looking for a fight, it was hard to get fired up when idiots came in drunk hitting on dude's girl-friends. We were just there to make sure those drunks didn't get pummeled to death.

F#%ck. I thought I deleted

F#%ck. I thought I deleted that memory from the hard drive. But now I am pissed again because the [email protected]#cken refs did not throw a flag on the play.
HALF of the wolverines on the field quit playing before the play was over, because the F%@CKEN CORNHOLERS rushed the field!!
Too many men on the field? Illegal substitution? Sideline Warning? Something! There should have been an untimed down from inside the twenty! There should be one more play!!

"Turn those machines back on and SELL! SELL!"

In fairness to Ecker, there

In fairness to Ecker, there really wasn't anyone to pitch to at that point. Yeah he decided to make a break for it, and he got pretty damn close. But at the same time, I still tell myself he could have just launched it backwards! I was irritated by this play everytime I thought about it or watched it on youtube, as this would have been one of the greatest "last-play" victories I'd ever seen.

Then I came across an article (link below) on WLA on this very topic which helped me cope and think somewhat more rationally about that play.

(I still can't believe the non-call by the referees; but if Ecker made it into the endzone, the victory would have been even sweeter.)

I've always wondered if the

I've always wondered if the refs would have let that play stand if Ecker (or Breaston, if he'd pitched it) had scored. Nebraska would have obviously howled in protest over the fact that 50-some guys were on the field (including a few for us, I think).
