2019 QB Cade McNamara Commits To Michigan Comment Count

Ace

Four-star Reno (NV) Damonte Ranch quarterback Cade McNamara made an early commitment to Notre Dame last July. He picked up a Michigan offer in January. On March 3rd, he decommitted from the Irish. This evening, he posted some news:

McNamara is the sixth commit in the 2019 class, which now ranks fifth nationally, and the first at quarterback. He holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and USC. I'll have the full Hello post tomorrow afternoon.

What else could possibly be keeping you busy?................../s

Great news - may be worth doing a draft on a Mazi Smith as well at this point?

he looks like a pro QB out there, rocket arm, accurate, can scramble and throw it well while doing so and many times accross his body....this feels like it came outta nowhere and I'm really glad!

Welcome Cade and Go Blue!

After 2 of the 3 years under Harbaugh the team is getting some high quality QB's. Now if we can get a great OL that can both run and pass block.

I am pretty sure you are going to be happy this recruiting cycle. We are in on some elite backs this year. The biggest recruit out there that is visiting this weekend is Zach Harrison. If we could steal him away from osu it would be huge on so many levels. Pair Hinton and Harrison together. Oooh ya!!.

Feel really good about getting at least two really good backs this cycle. Like the new QB. Profile said not fleet of foot. He looks really fast to me.

Rumler is going to be one helluva OG and Jones is an excellent prospect...that's one third of the class at this time. Lots more big-time prospects are seriously interested. Lots of oustanding RS kids  and Ruiz already on the roster. They need a coach...OH!!! They've got that too. Maybe the partisans should let these kids develop and play before getting all bent out of shape???

Ohio St is putting a lot of effort into flipping Nolan Rumler away, as Nick Saban did in flipping Emil Ekiyor away. Ed Warriner may be what keeps Rumler at Michigan.

Decent arm and keeps his eyes down field.  Throwing motion and footwork will need to be corrected.  He's quick in the pocket, can move around, but doesn't have enough running speed for QB runs to be a threat.

Well, the good news from his tape is that he was very successful while under significant duress. To complain about footwork and throwing motion when there is no semblence of a pocket seems silly to me. How about the fact that he is finding receivers and putting the ball on the money under these circumstances!!! The kid is quick AND fast enough-when he did run he was runining away from LBs like they were standing still.

He is a junior in high school...likely only 16 years old in the tape. I'll take him.

Height has nothing to do with it. Cam Newton is at least 6’5” and moves far faster than a man his size should ever be able to move.

I don’t mind if Harbaugh recruits pro-style guys. I just hope they’re guys who can move around in the pocket and run for a few yards if they have to, without looking like their cleats are made of cinder blocks.
