I have a screen shot to share:
So don't let anyone tell you this was an uneventful Saturday night.
Yeah, that picture didn't work... fyi.
Working on it. I was a Luddite until recently.
but it'd better be worth it.
OMG check out how hot this chick is, it's unreal:
I see it. How the fuck did he glitch the system? Every one of his comments are negged. Yea I'm making that a verb.
After grabbing the url and going there, I have seen the picture. CS101 ftw!
It's on a Picasa web album. It's set to "public" which I naively believed to mean "public". What's the better way to do this?
Not sure... maybe you just can't embed an image from a web album directly? I could see it when I copy/pasted the URL into my browser.
nm, he fixed it.
Step 1: Be too stupid to know when to shut the hell up.
Step 2: Get negative votes and whine them, only to get further negbanged by MGoCommunity.
Step 3: Profit! (in MGoPoints)
Although you could have made Step 2 into #1 and left step 2 as ??? Negbanged just had that certain ring to it.
This can only mean one thing. Bouje has discovered some deep, dark secret of Brian's, and has been paid +10,000,000 in hush MGoPoints.
maybe he used up,up,down,down,left,right, left,right,b,a,b,a,start?
teamed with Ally Sheedy and hacked into WOPR, giving him access to simulate what he could accomplish with unlimited Mgoblog points.
I think, for bouje, the only winning move is not to play.
The Konami code! I loved how it worked for all their games.
As you approach -infinity you magically go to +infinity
possibly brian feels bad for him because he's not really being annoying anymore but has a bad rep and gets negged only for that reason
if you look at how he got his points it shows that an admin gave him 100,000,000 points
while everyone wants to think of this place as a democracy, remember it's really always been a dictatorship, as well it should be...he pays the bills to keep the lights on
If Brian is bailing him out because his stupidity consistently leads to massive negbangings, then what is the actual point of MGoPoints? I don't get it, he shouldn't be rewarded for being an idiot. Does he deserve -400? No. Does he deserve +10,000? Fuck no.
THIS IS SOCIALISM AND WILL LEAD TO OLD PEOPLE DYING OF RATIONED MGOPOINTS! THIS IS AMURHICA! I WANT TO SEE BOUJE'S LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO PROVE HE'S WORTHY OF TAKING OVER THE SITE!
1) it's a joke. 2) when every post of his, even innocuous or helpful ones, gets -4 to -10, something's wrong.
if 75% of his posts weren't about his point total (good and bad) then maybe people would quit negging him.
While I agree with the basic premise, I think it's kind of what should be expected. Bouje is not the sharpest tool in the shed, he's still talking about what happened yesterday. After he was raised from the depths the first time, he took on this massively condescending attitude as if he thought he was (to steal from Harry Potter) the boy who lived. Unearned arrogance and repeated stupidity put people off just as much as someone saying "LOL DICKROD GET MORE 3 STARS LOLLL".
for the Harry Potter reference, which I want no part of. I can imagine ways to moderate the abuse of the down vote, but none that are workable. Short of moderating all votes, I think you have to let people learn as they go, and suffer the consequences when lessons are disregarded.
But still: funny joke with the 6.02x10^23 admin points.
LOL DICKROD GET MORE 3 STARS LOLLL
I CAN HAZ NEGBANG?
MGoCommunity deservedly took away his MGoPoints because he said something stupid and persisted in defending an indefensible position.
MGoCommunity gave him his MGoPoints back, because he realized he said something stupid and realized he persisted in defending an indefensible position.
MGoCommunity deservedly took away his MGoPoints again because he whined about his negative votes and persisted in whining about it.
I believe the point system was meant to partially put moderating in the hands of MGoCommunity, and it's done it's job. Bouje does not know when to shut up. MGoCommunity does not want Bouje as part of the community. The problem is Bouje.
And if I'm stupid for saying it then I'm stupid... But frankly if you don't want me as part of the community even when I post innocuous or helpful messages (as brian said) then I'll leave (or just start another user name which I'm sure that brian would endorse since he wouldn't have to deal with this bs).
This is, I will say again, an asynchronous medium. If that word is too long for you (which I doubt, but you don't seem to be grasping the concept), it means that we are not bound by time in our conversation. So, if I post the most sage and hilarious post of all time today, I can continue to earn points after I quit posting for the night, while I'm at the beach without connectivity at the end of the month, until MGoBoard ceases to exist even if I decide to throw it all over and become a beachbum and never return.
Conversely, as new people read the Board, they can marvel anew at how dense Some People can be and you can continue to lose points.
I can guarantee you this, though -- the more you continue to talk about it, the more you will lose points. People will neg you when they see your name before they even read what you ahve to say because you have now equated "bouje" with "tedious fucking whining about points." In fact, I think it is entirely possible for you to lose all you have before the season is over because you are so very obtuse.
People don't go back into the archives and "marvel at peoples stupidity" they just read what's current maybe on page 1 of mgoboard... I use as example all of the people who have been posting the same thing that is on page 2/3/4 and the board has been flipping out on them with Lincoln shot etc...
And I wasn't going to talk about it more but you guys brought it up...
Sure, there are people who think they know more than anyone else and have heard something new and will post without thinking or checking. Who cares about them -- they'll be negged into oblivion before long anyway because people are tired of the duplication. People with a real interest will always check back. Last night, someone went into the archive and brought back prediction and analysis threads from last year.
We will all have to live with the long-term consequences of what we post.
You can say all this bs about asynchronous medium but it doesn't hold up when you look at my posts from that week/2weeks... And I doubt that the vast majority of posters will go back farther than that...
I've gone back and looked at someone entire posting record a few times. For some people and their large volume of posts it doesn't work, but for the less then 100 crowd you can check for inconsistencies in posting... defending player A for action X while calling out player B for action X.
2. I really don't care about you at all. I just don't want to read your "My feeeeeeeeeeelings have been hurt!"" posts anymore.
I'm not sure why I even bother trying to help you understand what's happening here so you don't squander your precious points, but let me lay out some facts to show you why you are mistaken.
There are approximately 750 posters with more than 20 points. It doesn't take anywhere close to a majority of them to neg you into oblivion without moving past the first few screens of MGoBoard posts because you do not know when to quit. Should one of them take you into severe dislike, you have provided them plenty of opportunities to dock you points.
There are approximately 750 *more* posters with less than 20 points. While they cannot dock you, any one of them, at any time, can bring a vintage post back to life. Big Boutros did that last week with one of BlueSeoul's political ravings from last year. BlueSeoul managed to lose a ton of points even though I don't think I've seen him post in at least a week.
This is the last I will say in this thread. I'm sure, though, you will not be able to resist responding despite the fact you have claimed you're done several times now.
people do occasionally marvel at the stupidity of old threads. if you notice, the "SI: Michigan is #54" thread was just brought back from exactly one year ago.
I went looking through the other day and found that OPS and Hawkeye State had some mysterious +1's in the oldest of oldest threads, making me think they boost their own MGoPoint rankings. I +1'd them for their efforts.
You are a sage and an innovator. But you are wrong here. Wrong, because you have failed to appreciate the genius of Bouje. You see, he can be stunningly annoying and obstructive to the board reading experience by deftly using a series of posts which are, individually, innocuous or helpful. Like an artist who arranges a collection of random photographs to create a larger image which emerges when viewed from a distance, Bouje assembles what could, in small doses, be reasonable posts into towering mosaics of brain-scrambling inanity.
You see, he has an amazing ability to bury otherwise readable threads with an avalanche of individually not-horrible opinions, defenses of his honor, meditations on his role as a dissenting voice in a repressive regime, etc. He has even waxed poetic, 17 posts deep into a 30 post thread, about how "I know what I need to do is just stop posting."
The problem with our now highest-rated poster is you start reading a thread that is potentially interesting and then the name 'Bouje' appeears, and suddenly every other post is "Bouje: yeah, but...", "Bouje: yeah, but...", "Bouje: all I ever wanted to do was...", "Bouje: yeah, but..."
He is a cancer. I believe he can be cured/saved, but he should not be hailed as a hero or martyr for his self-inflicted wounds. He tugs this message board in the direction of the many other UM message boards, which are almost uniformly overrun by agitators and mouth breathers. We need this space. He can become a productive member of this civilized posting community, I still believe that. But he needs to learn, not be given a million points to burn away in self-pitying obsessive compulsive meltdowns.
Attention to myself and the situation... Frankly I just want to forget this but I don't think the mgocommunity will
squeaky wheel not just get GREASE, but also get entire OIL REFINERY.
around 10 last night and voted to give bouje a stimulus package due to his recent "negbanging"
the tension will become literally unbearable for some, driving them into a state closely resembling insanity, hence the increasing number of bouje-like threads.
It's similar to what happened to men in the trenches during WWI as they awaited orders to go up over the top and charge the opposite line. They knew they were awaiting certain death, and a certain percentage would literally go mad in the mud; some blew their heads off, others sank into a mumbling delirium or obsessively counted their MGoPoints over and over and over again, still others shot their pinkies off in a desperate attempt to avoid the inevitable carnage and doom.
Since most people use nice round numbers as opposed to random ones, can we assume that Brian gave him 100,000,000 points and that he has already frittered away 310 of them in less than 24 hours?
Maybe there should be a Vegas-style side bet here over which happens first:
Dantonio leaves MSU for better job vs. Bouje spends all of his points.
I'm betting on bouje, but just barely. 100,000,000 is a LOT of points.
Hahaha, if he's not back in the negatives by the end of the month, I will be very surprised.
It doesn't matter what the situation is — spanking new recruits in the armed services, rookie cops, new hires on the construction crew, incoming freshmen on a football team — all newbies pretty soon say or do something stupid that incurs the jibes and ribbing from the older guys. The vast majority of the newbies grin and bear it, taking their drubbings without complaint, figuring that sometimes it's better to shut up, listen, observe, and learn.
But. There's always one guy who just doesn't get it. He's indignant at the perceived injustice of the catcalls, and vociferously complains about it, which naturally engenders even more pointed responses from the veterans. Instead of figuring out what's going on, this guy whines even more loudly, thus starting a new cycle. There's rarely a good ending.
Frighteningly, Bouje is not a noob.
Did you die from negative points, undergo 49 days of meditation, and come back as the Evil Buddha reincarnate?
If life is suffering, then what is death?
If you follow the middle path, is it wrong to experience erections?
Which country offers the highest quality of life?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? (African)
Did Michael Jackson really molest all those children?
Is it better to wipe whilst standing or sitting?
bouje doesn't need to wipe
does this mean bouje runs mgoblog now?
Bouje IS mgoblog, and we are all merely his pawns.
I don't think so, but I wonder...Does he now have the ability to create a story?
Because an opus chronicling his rise and fall and subsequent rise in point totals would be fascinating.
Edit: And by fascinating I mean nauseating in every extreme.
Maybe you should have noticed he created a forum post a few hours ago?
If the MGoPoints inflation continues at its current rate, it may reach valuation equivalent to the US dollar as early as next month.
Please bouje, don't change your username, I want to see if you'll ever get back down to 0 points!
(For the record, I don't believe I've ever down-voted you, but I find it hilarious)
I suspect that Bouje has been repeatedly victimized by the "Silent Bone," a old Ann Arbor Rush Term....BREAKING the SILENCE I must confess that I got tired of his whining over points. I think he deserved the "Negging"and participated a few times.....I also got tired of "responses" which were apparent lame efforts to recoup points. The charity seemingly takes away the fun....but actually it may have have unintended upside of fun....I suggest selling squares Day and Month when Bouje equals 0 again, WITHOUT interference......
