No Jeremy Jackson?
it's a major award
No Jeremy Jackson?
I don't think Jeremy Jackson will be on any top 100 lists. He's probably a top 250 player, but not top 100.
M-Rob is on there though.
Devin Gardner, William Gholston, Austin White are the only MI players on there I think.
Yeah i agree, JJ is a top 150ish guy. Most likely 4 star guy. I always feel like it takes the recruiting guys longer to catch on up north guys. Dior mathis is another guy who will be up on that board eventually somewhere.
I have seen this kid play and practice...how can I put this...the kid is not remotely close to the top 200. He is slow and can only catch a ball when he's by himself...half the time. Everyone around him knows he is only getting into Michigan because of his dad...not his abilities. Also the whole varsity coaching staff at Huron High school was shit-caned at the end of this season so I would guess there will be other players emerging...just a guess...
So the offers from Florida, Iowa, Texas, Nebraska were just favors to Lloyd and Fred?
If you are close to Ann Arbor...the high school is but 10 min away from the Big House...check him out this fall.
RichRod, Urban Meyer, and Mack Brown's word for it
I would be the first to admit I don't know jack-sH#! about football...I can only tell you what I see and hear...I hope I am wrong...We cant afford to waste a spot.
Why waste a spot on a kid, at a position of need, who all the other major college coaches are sold on?
You indeed know Jack Shit about football and are a outstanding representative of the scum of the universe.
So let me get this, Urban Meyer wants to ultimately end up at Michigan, so he needs to get in good with Jackson, who in a few years is no doubt going to be AD....are you getting the sarcasm?
Now go back to your hole in OH and stop pretending to care about Michigan. mkay?
Why are you so angry? Chill out.
At least he's not running around saying "You know jack shit about football." He's participating in a discussion. Not everyone has supreme football intelligence like you obviously possess.
Well, the blackhand guy did say this:
"I have seen this kid play and practice...how can I put this...the kid is not remotely close to the top 200. He is slow and can only catch a ball when he's by himself...half the time. Everyone around him knows he is only getting into Michigan because of his dad...not his abilities."
That's not exactly participating in a discussion so much as it is being a total jackass.
This is the discussion I had the other day.
You can attack ideas without attacking the person. His stance does not mean he's a "moron" or knows "jack shit."
If the only qualification for being a "moron" is being wrong one time, then we're all morons.
Then I'm not a moron. I've been wrong waaaaay more than one time.
Just ask my ex-girlfriend.
Girlfriend? We all know you moved to LA because you're one of those gay, nude models who couldn't get work in Deerfield, MI.
No, I am. Having a girlfriend in the first place is just one of the things I was wrong about.
My qualification for being a moron is "wrong the vast, vast majority of the time and has terrible critical thinking skills."
A bad idea I'll attack. An idiotic thought process that takes correct facts and convolutes into stupidity, then I'll attack the person.
The "BlackHand" is begging for the ban hammer. Please wield away.
zach boren is in a similar situation. he'll only get an offer because of his dad...oh wait...
Did Florida give him an offer because of his dad, too?
That's seems silly, Urban.
The videos I've seen seemed pretty promising. Yeah, he's obviously not very fast, but he seems to be very good at getting open regardless, has very good hands, and is very tall which is an obvious advantage.
There's more to being a football player than being fast.
Jeremy Jackson's offers mean he's probably a 4-star guy.
His lack of playmaking ability probably prevent him from being a top 100 guy.
He will probably be somewhere in the top 250.
If he's not in the top 100 - and he's not - then it's not that farfetched to say he won't be in the top 150. That's only 50 more slots. It's ridiculous to think:
"Yeah, he's not 1 to 100...but dammit, he's 101 to 150 and if you don't think so, you're a dumb shit!"
It's not like we won't take kids outside the top 100. This year we only have JT and maybe Big Will(rivals100). Think of it this way. He's also a hell of a M supporter and will be going to a lot of camps with undecided kids.
Also his team sucks, so it's hard to look awesome when everyone else isn't doing anything.
it seems that we're not on the short list for a lot of these talanted recruits. Even the ones who list national interests (not just local) are mostly listing ND, USC, LSU and Ohio State. Remember when we used to be in the hunt for these types of players?
We have like 5 kids out of the top 25...Thats pretty damn good. After that we thin out a bit.
get a pretty good number of top 100 guys for 2010
I don't know why so many of you are surprised that Dior Mathis isn't a top-level recruit. There are only so many tiny corners who can reach an elite level.
dior's got some pretty good offers thus far. that's what tells you how good a guy is.
Dior Mathis has only played Corner for one year.
Also, I look at these initial lists as a whole, rather than the top, because they change so much. This will have changed a lot by the time the next season starts. I just look at everyone on there, and watch where they move to.
Just a side note -- "Jackson Jeffcoat" just might be captain of the 2010 all-name team.
I like Tai-ler Jones. He can go with all of our other weird named Jones': Teric, Dequinta and Mike.
I wonder what the percentage of kids is that completely drop of the list.
Yesterday I made an attempt to add to this discussion…my post had the unintended outcome of pissing some people off. This was not my intention at all. Like I said before…I am just learning about football so I may make some jacked up statements...and it wont be the first or last time. I don’t mind anyone criticizing what I say…that will only make me understand this great game more.
Ok. I understand
