Still fun to watch over and over...
"It's not about last year or who's here or who's isn't here," says your head coach. "It's about getting out here and competing and seeing who is here, and that's where we're gonna go."
40th anniversary of that game this year. Hopefully our '09 team can reprise the result.
Did I seriously just hear an early, early "It's great, to be, a Michigan Wolverine"?
I think I did.
when it gonna be on?
Enjoyed the game and now I know who Garvie Craw is. Also, I wish we had a Barry Pierson on this year's team.
The real comparison may be 1968 rather than 1969. In '68, the team was coming off a 4-6 season and was picked by many "experts" to finish last in the Big Ten. After a season opening loss to I believe Cal, the team reeled off eight straight wins, led by an unheralded qb (Moorhead) and a running back (Johnson)who had had some success but was not expected to be the best running back in the country east of OJ. Unfortunately that team finished with the infamous 50-14 game in Columbus, but I'll take 9-3 (even if it includes a loss to the team in Southern Ohio). (One silver lining of the loss is that it may have contributed to Bump Elliott's "resignation" and the hiring of some guy named Glenn.)
