Who is the number one guy Michigan HAS to pull in to solidify this class? In other words, imagine if Rich Rod was only going to sign one more player, who should it be?
I don't think they changed Les at all actually
Well put. Maybe Terrelle Pryor. Wait, what? Sorry, guess that was last year.
Proud To Be An American But Even Prouder To Be A Wolverine!
There isn't "one guy" this class needs in a "make-or-break" situation. The "one guy" we needed is already enrolled. RR just needs to make sure Tate goes to class/remains eligible/etc.
We had a thread about this, but given answers like this and others I would again say: that's a lot of high hopes for the #156 ranked player in America. I sure hope we know something that the scout's don't.
"Everyone gets dumped Gabe. Let me give you some advice: a little coverup on your Adams Apple will make it appear smaller. Which will make you appear less like a transvestite."
Is Jelani Jenkins out of the question? If not him, I'd say D. Robinson
I'd have to say, according to our needs and where these players project to play, that it would be Denard Robinson. He will get a shot at QB, which is a position we desperately need depth at. If he doesn't pan out at QB than most scouts project him to play CB, which is another position desperately seeking depth and playmakers.
So if you forced me to pick one player, Denard would definitely be it. Not only would we be picking up a great and fast athlete, but we would most likely get the package deal of Denard and his teammate A. Witty. I know you said one player, but it appears that these guys are a package deal, especially if Michigan is the school chosen.
Jenkins is out, other than that? I would say a great last pull for this recruiting class would B. Mingo. Again though, slim to no chance. Of our possibles I guess I would say Sam Montgomery would be a great last pull.
Of the players still out there that we have a decent chance of getting, I'd say Denard Robinson (I'm assuming that Barkevious Mingo is not a possibility). Getting Montgomery or Hall would be awesome, but both would just be a really great surprise. Getting Robinson means more competition for the QB position, which can only be a positive.
Of course, if it suddenly materializes that there is an elite CB or LB we have a shot at that we're currently unaware of, I'd say they'd vault to the head of the pack.
Assume Schofield, Lewan and Hall redshirt and you're looking at the 2010 season. Even if Forcier isn't ready yet or gets injured I think between this class and the last one we'll have had to find an offensive line combination good enough to protect a less mobile #2 QB. With decent or even good protection I think a redshirt junior Threet will have progressed enough to run an adequate offense.
With Montgomery I just want the depth at DL.
I see 6 redshirt sophomore offensive linemen, as well as Schilling, Dorrestein and Molk I believe. Also, I see Schofield and Lewan there. Hall isn't as big a need as another cornerback.
My #1 pick - Ronnie Lott, even at his current age.
we're even close with? I mean yeah if we're picking from everyone on the Rivals 250 Hall probably isn't the top priority. But I'm trying to go with people that have actually taken visits. So maybe Dennis Thames.
well if we believe some people, adrian witty could be a talent. we're looking at him. no he's not a four star, but the time that you evaluate in, he was hurt. He's healed up and he has intangibles, and thats really what you get from most high school kids right ? Intangibles. So you could count him.
If this year has shown us anything, at Michigan or elsewhere, the quarterback is where it has to start. Plus the more competition we have at that spot the better the chance we have of a confident starter.
And as Revelli played 'The Victors',
They laid Woody Hayes away!

I'd say the biggest area of need is a DC.
For reasons already stated. QB depth is paramount in this system. And by depth, I don't mean, "Sheridan 3rd in line." Also, if Forcier pans out and remains healthy, D-Rob (see what I did there, Linda Cohn?) can play at another position of need. He's like a Swiss Army knife, only not, but rather a HS football player from Florida.
Pat White - was an ATH that was recruited at CB by everyone else but RR because he was not QB ready and we see how that turned out. Denard Robinson hands down give Tate some competition as I think Threet and Sheridan could make Tate worse if they were his only competition.
Tim Tebow.
