1-3-1 COMEBACK MUPPETS Comment Count

Yes, a 16-point second-half comeback featuring brilliant adjustments to overcome major matchup issues against a good team merits the full Muppet treatment. We're in dire need of them, anyway.

And you can't have one without the other...

Recap of this one will be up shortly. Short version: WOOOOOO STAUSKAS/MCGARY

I hv to say Stauskas has ice in his veins. Fearless shooter. I wd say that if either Mcgary or GR3 could live up to their lottery pick potential, our ceiling is a repeat visit to the final four.

Beilein has also overhauled his play books several times adjusting to personnel. Early on it was back cuts like Princeton on offense and lots of1-3-1 on defense. Then it morphed into pick and roll offense and zone defense with DMo. Burke brought us the ball screen and more man defense (and alley oops last year)

Great coach who maximizes talent, and wins the coaching battles

That was a Muppet-worthy comeback against a team that just demolished VCU.  The only thing better than an early-season loss that you can learn from (e.g., Iowa State) is an early-season victory you can learn from.  Still lots of mistakes, but the team is starting to jell.

Having said that, these Muppets should in no way preclude further Muppets on Sunday should things go our way against Charlotte.  A tournament title is a tournament title.  :-)

and we're lucky to have him. For all the times Al Borges makes us want to hit our heads on a wall, John Beilein has a win where he gets a win with a brilliant game plan.

VCU...

Syracuse...

FSU tonight

It's so great to have him as a coach. Never retire

Great comeback.

Need those big men to step up a little bit in B1G. Need their fouls.

McGary looked good. Hope the back issue went away.

Great experience for freshmen. I was thinking when the score was 67-69, who is the next TB. They answered. Nice pressure game.
