In.
That went just the way I wanted it to: without suspense. I have delved deep into these things the past couple weeks and I can tell you Michigan is in. There will be a selection show worth watching on Sunday.
It's been a long time in the desert. I remember this Thursday a few years ago, when Michigan had to beat Minnesota in the Big Ten tournament to get in, probably, after blowing it in the regular season. Then the sort of person who can't watch 2:30 PM basketball game, I listened to it on the radio. Things were going okay until a seemingly infinite series of consecutive turnovers and the resultant fast-break buckets, and I remember sitting in my chair, disgusted, thinking that Michigan would never atone for Traylor and Taylor and Bullock and all those grim-faced mercenaries that worked their way through the program without loyalty or joy.
The day of atonement is at hand. I added a tag.
We have a basketball program?
Just kidding, it is great to see us finally back.
I'm putting us as national champs in every bracket I fill out, even the ones for big money.
Mortimer...we're back!
Your recent posts are awesome.
They are also, thankfully, now irrelevant.

The pictures have shadows.
My first Michigan basketball game Johnny Orr was coach and Mike McGee was the star. It seem then and for most of my youth that Michigan would always be a great basketball school.
I think UM has paid it's debt to the sport 10 fold. We should all rejoice today for it truly is great to be a Michigan Wolverine! GO BLUE! Beat ILLNI!
Seriously, could the combination of today's win plus the Gardner commit deserve anything less?
That Minnesota game was hard to live down; this one was how it should have been. Of course, had UM won that game and gone to the tourney, Amaker would still be here, and the program would be muddling through another mediocre season with little direction. So while it hurt then, it may have worked out for the best.
And thanks again for not live blogging! No, I don't think it made a difference, but hey, don't tempt fate!
And the difference between Amaker and Beilein is that coach B's teams win when they absolutely have to and improve from game to game. I guess we're in win or lose tomorrow. Just remember that these are young kids. Freshmen and sophomores. As well as they played today, they can play just as intense on the bad side. So please everyone, be proud of what they have accomplished this year whether we sweet 16 it or are one and done in the big dance.
It's good to be a Wolverine BB fan again!
I'm of Croatian descent, and I've been there, but I'm not actually from Croatia. I'm just proud of my heritage. I'm afraid I couldn't tell you much about anything besides Pula in Istria County. I'm not full-blooded Croat, either. Italian-Greek-Croatian-Irish.

We're playing with house money the rest of this season. Hopefully a year from now the only uncertainty will be how high Michigan is seeded.
Finally, a selection show worth viewing. Now I can watch college basketball again without bitterness and quiet anger.
I hope we run far in the B10 tourney and build more confidence right before the big dance

How to avoid the 8-9 seed?
Getting to Big 10 finals would get us up to 7 or higher I am guessing.
who the hell cares. I want to be as high as possible. It's not like avoiding the 8/9 game is going to give us a better shot at the F4. No 10 seed has ever made the final four while one 9 seed and four 8 seeds have. Besides knocking off a #1 seed far outweighs knocking off a 2.
Not sure if you meant that no 10 seed or below has ever made the final 4, but George Mason made is as an 11 in 2004.
Any ideas anyone on how to get tickets?
Is the alumni association an option?
.....a Selection Show CIL?!?!?

If that happens, Arizona, St. Mary's, and Northwestern will get in over us!

FWIW, I think at least one tournament appearance in the mid-90's wasn't vacated, so you may need to take a few things off that second list.
I think. I could be wrong.
to come look so,so bright. But for now...can you say,*Michigan goin to the dance baby!*
Lucky enough to have my own JT wristband!!
From someone who was at the Timeout game (yes,
that Timeout game), it has been a long time.

I have no recollection of this timeout game you speak of (nor do I have any recollection of sitting on the couch staring at the TV in disbelief for an hour after its conclusion), nor can I seem to locate any official record of the University of Michigan having participated in such a game in New Orleans or any other city. Please do not speak of events that clearly never occurred.

Awesome game today. Listened on the radio at work, then watched the DVR after. Sims dominated, Manny played great all over, Erin Andrews was hot as always and Mushmouth still kept bringing up his secret love affair with OSU. All things were in line. Glad we can watch tomorrow. Hoping for a BIG WIN!!! YOU KNOW IT!!!
No question, Jim.

Inexplicably I just happened to be flying during that Minnesota loss a few years ago. I was on my second leg of my trip from LA to DC. I planned my trip perfectly selecting Frontier airlines so I was actually able to watch that game on the plane. I was so pissed during that second half that I'm lucky an air marshall didn't escort me off the plane when we landed.
The only consolation on that trip was that I got to nail Miss Florida all weekend so things only got better after that loss.

Shocker that when Sims has a big game in the paint that Michigan wins. All tourney success will hinge on him. Can they effectively feed him in the post? Let's hope so.

Good to be dancing again. Its nice to watch a tournament with special significance.
I think Michigan can go to the Big 10 championship as all the teams that handled them are in the top of the bracket. These next few days will be interesting.
