Peppers at 10, which seems low.
Worst State Ever
This could probably be posted under the other "Hate Week" threads, but I figured it really needs its own. This should be posted every year during this week as a reminder of , well.....the Michigan Difference. A great piece written so well, I read it every year in the last week in Novemeber.
Thank goodness it's in Ann Arbor this year!
In a recent Gallup poll on "The Happiest States in America," Ohio came in at 46th. Of course, no one at mgoblog is surprised by this.
Michigan came in at 37, so we can't crow about it too much, I guess. Perhaps the situation in Detroit and surrounding environs had an impact? One of the indices, work environment, was a strong factor in North Dakota (my state of birth!) coming in number 1. Interestingly, many of the states in the lowest quintile were in the deep South and the land of the SEC (i.e., Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee.) It is an enjoyable light read if you're interested in that kind of thing.
So I posted this in another thread, but thought that there's just too much win in this for it not to be shared far and wide. There is apparently a film coming out that chronicles four days in the Buckeye wilderness. It seems like a brilliant work of trolling, but I believe the intention is actually to demonstrate how passionate their fans are.
Suffer through about a minute of ohio hype film and be rewarded with the most tremendous, couldn't have trolled better myself, and irony-free, celebration of cooler-pooping! Without further ado, I give you the trailer for, "Across the Field!"
Great Big Shout Out to the Number One Son! My oldest son, is a huge Michigan football fan, and is right now on the road from Minnesota to Virginia (Fort Lee). He wanted everyone at his favorite blog to know that he changed his route so as to not have to travel through Columbus. Caleb texted me from the border (HELLO: Worst State Ever). He is refusing to stop and or spend money anywhere between Indiana and the east side of the state!
That's right. You heard me. Go Bucks. O-H, and whatnot.
I've noticed a number of people on Twitter saying that they still can't root for OSU this weekend, even though an OSU win (coupled with a Michigan win over PSU) means Michigan's first Big Ten regular season title since
1837 1986. So, as someone who would really like to see that, I simply don't understand the impulse to root against the Buckeyes in this situation.
So, my question to those who will be rooting against OSU is this: what's up with that?
EDIT: I forgot WBB was taking on Ohio today. Title changed to reflect the fact that for today, OHIO SUCKS, and we wish all of the bad things in the world to happen to them and no one else.
Scanning through the submitted photos on the Michigan Football Facebook page, I came across this triple gift of Worst State Ever t-shirts.
The comment thread is also entertaining. Originally I wasn't into this Facebook thing for Michigan Football. Now I'm finding myself checking it more and more. Viral!
