IMHO this closes the book on any negative discussion of Trey Burke's size.  He is on track to be a high lottery pick.  GO BLUE!

ESPN's Fraschilla has Trey Burke as Top PG in Draft

  • Well DUH

ESPN's Fran Fraschilla has Trey Burke as the top PG in this year's NBA draft.  (Duh)

Link?  LINK

He has him ahead of CJ McCollum of Lehigh.  One might says he has Burke Lehigher on his list.  (Cringe)

Fraschilla compares him to last year's ROY, Damian Lillard in that he might be able to start at PG right away for a lottery team.

Because Burke will be selected by a team in the lottery that will have a specific need for the position, he has a chance to have the same impact that the Blazers' Rookie of the Year, Damian Lillard had this past season. He'll likely start immediately, but I am not sure even he and his great will to win can affect a team's improvement right away.

ESPN Insider: Trey Burke should go #1 overall

Title basically says it all.  One of the ESPN Insider writers (in this case David Thorpe) makes a case for why Trey Burke should be the overall #1 pick, backing it with STATS!!!

I don't believe this is part of a series where they have different writers make cases for different players.  I believe this is his honest opinion.

OSU PG Marcus Smart announcing Draft decision tomorrow

By Leaders And Best — April 16th, 2013 at 9:55 PM — 41 comments

OSU freshman PG Marcus Smart, projected top 5 NBA Draft Pick, is announcing his decision tomorrow--in the Student Union with teammates Le'Bryan Nash and Markel Brown. Unless he has people advising him worse than LeBron with "the Decision," Smart is probably returning to school next year. Pretty surprising given his draft position.

This would most likely make Trey Burke the #1 PG in this year's draft. On the negative side, it is one less lottery pick in the draft and could make GR III or McGary a little more likely to go pro this year.

Daily O'Collegian ‏@OColly 9m

Markel Brown, Le'Bryan Nash and Marcus Smart are expected to announce whether they are entering the NBA draft at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The press conference is in the Student Union and is open to the public.

Another Reason to Appreciate This Basketball Season - Football Recruiting

As if coming close a national championship wasn't fun enough in it's own right, Michigan got the added benefit of even more exposure with top football recruits.  Not that these kids don't like Michigan, but Trey's game is incredibly entertaining even if you're not a fan of any particular school and just like watching basketball.

A few examples that have popped across my twitter from following various Michigan football outlets, as I find the idea of following a high school junior on twitter slightly disturbing unless it's your job (or you're a high school junior).  Yes, interest in the tweets vs. following them directly is a fine distinction, but one that lets me justify my Michigan Football addiction.  If I were Dantonio and company, I wouldn't get too comfortable about Lawrence Marshall just because he's had some kind words to say about MSU, that recruitment is far from over.

Here's top defensive end prospect Malik McDowell

It's already over Trey about to go nutz.
