"I love it that Ivy League coaches are coming to our camp and Big Ten coaches are coming to our camp. South Florida is coming. We've got about 70 schools that are coming to our camp."
For all of you U-M Solar Car alum and junkies, I just received a Michigan Engineering Alum email advertising the 2012 American Solar Challenge race route.
The UM Solar Car Team web page also has a nice race route map through the heart of Big 10 country populated by hoards of UM alum and fans:
Ann Arbor appears to be on the route (July 16), so I expect throngs of supporters along the way. Maybe we can convince Coach Hoke to point tremendously at Quantum as it enters the city limits.
For all of you Madison area residents, there will be a pit stop in Verona, WI on July 19. I will be attending emblazoned in maize and blue with The Victors loudly playing from some portable music device. My son will undoubtedly wear his Denard jersey, too. Come cheer with me. Maybe this deserves an all-day tailgate party.
Really great article officially revealing the Solar Car team's 11th car "Quantum" to the world. There should also be a bunch more pictures of it up soon on the team's website. Quantum's first real test will be at the Formula Sun Grand Prix in Indy from May 2-7.
