Coaches' timeouts are worse. Basketball teams should get one, full stop.
player development center
John Beilein has his own website (www.johnbeilein.com.) There is another video tour of the Player Development Center, with Travis Conlan. Link: http://johnbeilein.com/site/?cat=24. What a beautiful facility. I'm sure the players are ecstatic about starting there, and having McGary, Robinson, and Stauskas join them next Fall. The future looks great, and only getting better!
Michigan Basketball facebook put up some pics of the new pdc.... Looks amazing and the players look more than a little excited about their locker room. This is going to be huge for recruiting.
Michigan Stadium Aerials has up new photos of the Basketball Player Development Center . . . http://www.michiganstadiumaerials.com/construction-updates.html. It would be awesome to have the PDC open and have McGary commit the same day.
The exterior of the PDC certainly looks very nice, but I'm especially looking forward to it opening up. I'm assuming they will be using it for practice from October 16 forward, and that they might open the center a day or three before that.
EDIT: Subject has been spelled out in full. For any who are unclear, this is the name given to the new basketball practice facility adjacent to Crisler Arena.
The player development center is due to open within a month. Is there a "grand opening" date set? Will it be open to the public?
I would have to assume that work is nearing completion, but not being in AA, I haven't heard or seen anything lately. It seems that unlike the suites in MIchigan Stadium and the new scoreboards, there hasn't been a whole lot of publicity and pics out there. I know the team did see Crisler's first phase of renovations a couple weeks ago, and are using Crisler once again. Any info. or pics on the PDC would be great.
What is the timeline for the Player Development Center? Will they be using it by September, or not until the beginning of the season? "Fall 2011" is a pretty big window of time. Is the team practicing at Concordia again this summer?
Also, what is the timeline for Crisler work? Obviously, with the guts pulled out, most of the interior seating and playing area will be done this year, and also the utility and HVAC infrastructure. Will they wait until Spring 2012 to begin work on the concourses, the entry, and the food and other amenities? Or are separate contractors beginning work concurrently with the ongoing renovations?
I did a cursory search via Google, Umhoops, Mgoblue, and here at Mgoblog, but the top and latest hits at each didn't seem to have info. I'm assuming that visible progress hasn't gone much further than the pics posted in April & May 2011.
