The weekly article from Dave Revsine of the Big Ten Network on applicable stats for the games this week. I'll do a quick overview of what was said about Michigan and this weeks opponent, Penn State. I'll provide the link at the bottom for those of you who want to see what was said about the other Big Ten teams.
- The Wolverines are one of two teams averaging more than 225 yards passing and 225 yards rushing this year. The other? #2 ranked Oregon.
- Why is Michigan not in the top 5? Defense obviously. Wolverines allowed 33+ points in each of last 3 games.Third time this has happened under Rodriguez. Before Rich Rod arrived, this never happened before in the history of Michigan football, dating back to 1879.
- Last two games, the Penn State defense has allowed 437 yards vs Illinois and 433 vs Minnesota, the 8th and 10th ranked offenses in the Big Ten. These are the two highest yardage totals Penn State has allowed since 2005
On another note, I will be traveling to Happy Valley this weekend for the game. I wish safe travels and good times for all of those who will be joining me to cheer on Michigan as they get their season back on track. Go Blue!
