Michigan Men's Basketball
MGoPoll: I am stuck on if I want to drink tonight or not. I can't correlate my drinking habits to the team winning or losing. I did not drink during SDSU, VCU, Florida or 'Cuse. I did drink (heavily) during Kansas. What I cannot do is start the game not drinking, then begin drinking in the second half. I am 99% positive that is the reason we lost to Indiana at home. (1st half - zero beers and a Michigan lead, 2nd half - 2 beers and Michigan lost).
Up-vote for engaging in ALL OF THE BEERS
Down-vote for a sober night
Speaking of superstitions. What are you doing to secure victory for the boys in blue (or maize) tonight? Sadly, for me, I haven't wore Michigan related clothing during game day all tourney long. So I will be rocking a plain white t-shirt tonight.
Feel free to posbang if you want. Today is kind of a big deal. Go Blue and Good Luck to our amazing Basketball Team!
The main two results we want have been talked about already. If they were to happen to me it doesn't matter what else happens as that would be fantastic. However, if our game and State's game goes how we want then the following would make a great day even better:
- Florida losing to Kentucky
- Florida State losing to Clemson
- Indiana losing to Purdue
- Wisconsin losing to Illinois
- Creighton losing to Illinois State (this one is debatable if you want Northwestern to squeak into the Tourney)
Rooting for the home team is overrated today as all of these games feature road teams that we want to win. This of course includes the Marquee games. Now, let's get the most important result of all.

#25 in this week's Examiner Top 25. LOL
How many wins do you think it will take to go to the tourney for this team, and do you think they can do it?
Looking at their schedule it is hard. I've got to believe they will have an advantage against a lot of other bubble teams in regards to SOS, and if they could pull just one upset (I'm looking at you Michigan State at the end of the year) this team might have a chance.
However the most, I mean most, wins I can see out of them is 15/16. Now if they can win a couple in the Big ten Tourney maybe they could get to 17/18. What do you think, does 17 wins get this team a 10 seed?
College basketball season is approaching now and I am really looking forward to the season. We should have a solid team at the least. Michigan Madness is this Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 PM. I probably won't be attending, but I'm sure many MGoBloggers will be there. I guess it depends if we sell our Del. State tickets or not. Maybe I could set up an overnight stay in AA. Anyways, back to the post. I was curious as to when more basketball information would be rolling out. I would have to assume that there would be some sort of presser type recap of Friday's festivities. The first game is Nov. 6th with an exhibition against Wayne State. I'm guessing late in October the info will kick up? Can't wait for this season. It should be big.
