Alright, enough of you guys already-- take your big fat Charlie Weis shirt and be happy! So yesterday's shirt, clearly not a hit. No problem-- I take criticism well and you can all rest better knowing that I didn't go home and cut off my ear last night and send it off in a box. (Speaking of which, Brodie-- keep an eye on your mailbox j/k). Honestly, everyone's got the right to say what they feel around here, and I'm cool with that. I did switch up my running order today, because it just felt like something on the lighter side was in order. So maybe I'll run today's original shirt tomorrow, haven't decided yet.
So, time to vote! What do you guys think?

***** Five Stars: Charlie Weis-- 734 lbs. GET IN MY BELLY!
**** Four Stars: No, he can't weigh more than 650...
*** Three Stars: Are you kidding me? Half a ton, no more.
** Two Stars: Leave him alone, he's a svelt 425!
* One Star: Actually, he's a comparable to my own 300 lbs.
I've also tried to keep all shirts as a single side tee, just to keep costs down. There are some two-sided shirts in the mix, including tomorrow's, but as I said, most of the shirts will be one front image, maize ink on a blue background. If there was a back side to today's shirt, I'd probably just have it say "SHUT UP YOU BIG FAT IRISH SLOB."
One of the things that keeps coming up is the idea of "MGoBlog" listed somewhere on the shirt. The big reservation here is that Brian has pretty much his entire life invested in this site, and although he hasn't personally said it, the potential fear is that of one of us goons might drag his blog's good name through the mud after one too many cases of beer and/or a run-in with a.) hardcore drugs, b.) various farm animals, or c.) a damn Buckeye co-ed fatter than Weis. BUT I will say that yes, an MGoBlog shirt is among my designs. As is Tacopants. And Barwis. Twice.
So enough is enough...place your votes, ladies and gentlemen, and feel free to love to hate below! See you tomorrow for another exciting round of – MGoShirt Alert!!

For our second entry, I wanted to go with this phrase, something I have never heard anywhere outside of the MGoBlog community and yet something that I think would be well received and acknowledged by at least the more football-savvy individuals of your 107,501 best friends. The little ninja guy is drawn to capture the speed and elusive qualities of Martavious and company… On a side note, I can’t tell ya excited I am in seeing what Gallon can do. But that’s another story.

***** Five Stars: This shirt is miraculously as good as Denard is fast.
**** Four Stars: Think healthy Carlos Brown afterburners.
*** Three Stars: Reminiscent of the above average speed of Greg Mathews.
** Two Stars: Like the winged cleats of Nick Sheridan.
* One Star: Comparable to the velocity of George Morales.
To address something that came up yesterday—Some of you expressed concern that you’d rather a maize shirt with blue artwork. Since almost all of these designs are one-color art, that’s not a problem; we’d simply change the shirt and change the printing ink. So keep in mind that if a given shirt was a big hit, it would not be difficult to offer the shirt in both navy and maize, just as the Worst State will be offered. With a few exceptions, however, all of the designs featured in the MGoShirt Alert will be maize ON blue.
Place your votes, ladies and gentlemen, and feel free to add any comments below! I’ll be revealing a new shirt tomorrow that honors a past tradition of the Lloyd Carr Wolverines. See you then for another exciting round of – MGoShirt Alert!!
MGoShirt Alert – Day One

“THE ABILITY TO DESTROY A PLANET IS INSIGNIFICANT
NEXT TO THE POWER OF… THE FORCIER!"
This is the first entry of the 2009 MGoShirt Alert , a design project that

For our first entry, I simply HAD to go with the current tagline of MGoBlog—a shout-out to the poise and talent of our new quarterback, not to mention the nigh-insurmountable pressure that we’ve all placed on his young shoulders. While quite simple in style, this shirt actually evolved quite a bit before settling on this final design. This final rendition hopefully captures the essence of the joke while clearly identifying one single player on our team. Unless, of course, you presume that it’s Vlad Emilien… but that’s another story for another post.
So, time to vote! What do you guys think?

***** Five Stars: I MUST OWN THIS SHIRT RIGHT NOW!
**** Four Stars: Looks good—you just missed touching the GO BLUE banner!
*** Three Stars: Not bad—but does it come in Zoltan?? (PS- NO, it doesn’t.)
** Two Stars: Meh.
* One Star: I wouldn’t wish this shirt on Mark Dantonio’s pet turtle. Yikes.
Keep in mind that the design will not actually appear this large on an actual shirt-- I made all designs occupy most of the shirt space just to give everyone as good a view of the art as possible. That shirt graphic is also probably not anatomically accurate in the first place.
So place your votes, ladies and gentlemen, and feel free to add any comments below. I’m not likely to change the design unless Brian himself steps in on behalf of the community, but certainly anyone can feel free to speak your mind. I’ll be revealing another shirt tomorrow, and one every day for the next three weeks (not counting the weekends), so I’ll see you all tomorrow for another exciting round of – MGoShirt Alert!!
