here's one vote for "John Beilein's head in a Futurama jar"
Well, we've made it to the last Friday afternoon without college football coming. One week from now many of us will be itching to leave the office, out of towners like myself will have been packed up for the trip to Ann Arbor. With games next Thursday and Friday nights the season is finally here. What are you up to this final game-free weekend (Until Wife Day and Wife Day II Wife-Day-Harder)? What will you be doing almost exactly 193 hours from right now?
With the Super Bowl coming up, I had a question for the board: what's your favorite sports time of the year?
For me, it's the kickoff of the college football season. Weather's still beautiful, start of a new year--it's better than Christmas. Oh yeah, and all the girls coming back to Ann Arbor isn't a bad thing, either.
Summer is my least favorite. I've never been big into watching baseball, and seeing how that's the only thing on all summer, it's a good thing I enjoy being outside.
So what sports time do you look forward to the most all year?
Not as creative as the "There are..." posts, but a nice reminder nonetheless.
Oops... needs to appear in a reply post, not main thread topic for some reason.
So today after we got the safety today to make it 30-14, bowling green proceeded to kickoff from their own 20 I think. however, I thought (or should I say ncaa football 05 taught me) that after a safety the kicking team had to punt it away. i looked on wikipedia and got this
Resuming play after a safety The various rules books prescribe different methods for resuming play after a safety. In the NFL, the team that gave up the points kicks to the other team from its own 20-yard line. This is termed a free kick: the kicking team has the option of employing a punt or a drop kick. Unlike the kickoff, a kicking tee may not be used (NFL only, college kickers have the option of using a tee on the safety kick). A punt is the most commonly chosen option, whereas a drop kick is virtually unheard-of in modern football.so it looks like it says you can punt or drop kick it. why then did bowling green kickoff normally?
Can you feel it?
Damn, it's close!
Your inspirational thought for Wednesday morning?
I just suddenly realized I am no longer thinking about last season. I am now thinking about kickoff and the 2011 season. It's really not far off now!
Anticipation, baby! I see your lips quiver with it!
