the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection
Joe Bolden
1st Team All-Ohio, Division 1: AJ Williams OL, Joe Bolden LB
Just thought I'd share this news. I found the results on his conference's website, but not on the OHSAA site. I am guessing they have not posted there yet, and may be waiting until after the state championship games are played this weekend. Caleb Stacey was selected as Honorable Mention All-Ohio as well. Link:
I am hoping there will be at least a few more players to add once I find the rest of the players selected.
EDIT: Caleb Stacey is Special Mention, not Honorable Mention.

ACE: Joe Bolden on National TV Tonight
You can watch 2012 commit Joe Bolden live on national TV tonight at 7 as Colerain takes on Middletown on your local Fox Sports Net. If you're in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area, which has the Tigers showing on FSD, the game is on FSD+ (channel 901 on Comcast). Not sure if I'm going to be able to catch the game live, but I have my DVR set and should be able to give some impressions after the weekend.
If any enterprising MGoUser has the ability to put up a torrent of the game or find a way to get me a file that I can use to cut highlights, I'll add a bonus section to this week's Creeper Van Originals - it'd be great to be able to do that with Bolden, since I'm not sure how many times I'll be able to make it down to the Cincinnati area this season.
[EDIT: Forgot to mention that Middletown features 2013 five-star quarterback/athlete Jalin Marshall, who already has offers from Ohio State, Notre Dame, and several others. Should be a fun matchup to watch.]
Ace: 247Sports Ranks 2012 Defensive Position Groups
Yesterday, 247 named Michigan's 2012 offensive line class the best in the country, while also giving the Wolverines honorable mention at tight end. Today, they ranked the defense, and prepare for a little debate: The defensive end group of Chris Wormley and Tom Strobel came in second behind Florida State, which is cool, but the linebackers (Joe Bolden, RJS, Kaleb Ringer, and James Ross) also came in second, after Alabama, which is far less cool from a Michigan fan's perspective. While the issue is certainly up for debate, and Alabama has a pretty fantastic group, 247 analyst Gerry Hamilton said 'Bama's position at the top was 'pretty much cut and dry'.
To his credit, in the comments, J.C. Shurburtt acknowledged that both have great classes, implying that the Tide's spot at the top wasn't as clear-cut as Hamilton suggested. Your (probably wildly-biased) thoughts, MGoBoarders?

Five (!) 2012 commits have been selected to the 51 player watch list for the 2011 high school Butkus Award. This is great for not only these athletes, but also their current teammates, and for UM Football. Past winners include Manti Te'o, Jordan Hicks, and Tony Steward.
