Short blurb in the DetNews (re-run from the AP newswire). This just may be the NCAA's "Exhibit A" on why Gordon Gee just doesn't get it.

Dear Trustees:

You should all be embarrassed and mortified at Gordon Gee’s joke yesterday in the press conference held to divulge the transgressions of the University’s head football coach.  It was not a time for levity.  Worse, the joke itself laid bare what would seem to be fundamentally disordered values on your campus.  The university from which I received my degree does not operate at the pleasure of the football coach.  Is that the case at Ohio State?

As a Big Ten supporter, at least I know I’m embarrassed by this.  What’s wrong with you people?
