My four brothers and I are taking my dad (1966 alum) to the Indiana game this weekend. We are all lifetime fans but none of us brothers have been to a game in the Big House or spent any time in AA, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to do on gameday. So far I have read Brian's 2011 food guide and a similar post from earlier this year. We're getting in late Friday night and leaving Sunday, so mostly I'm looking for gameday suggestions on:
- What do see before going to the stadium for warm-ups? Say from 8 am on.
- Is the Towsley Family Museum worth the time, and is it packed on game day?
- What time to get into the stadium for a 3:30 game to see warm ups/band?
- Can I bring a seat cushion for my dad? I recall this being a thing on the blog a few years ago...
- Any cool traditions after the game to be sure to catch?
Any other suggestions are very welcome. Go Blue!
May your gameday be as happy as Christmas-times when you were young.
It is a blessing that each of us has somehow or some way found our way to University of Michigan fandom. Like every football eve, I told myself I would be in bed by 11. Like every football eve, I am wide awake and still watching Woodson and Howard highlights in the wee hours of the morning, anxiously anticipating the glorious return to Ann Arbor in the morning.
As the season approaches, we start to see more and more "Where can I catch the game in (insert city here)" posts. This is meant as an informational posts to all new users out there who recently joined, as well as keeping (trying as I know this can be a lost cause sometimes) older members pleased.
For those that don't know an actual MGoBoard exists apart from the ticker on the right hand side, there is a very helpful Michigan bar locator thread. This thread can be found on the MGoBoard page or the mouseover on the tab above, that will help you find any bars that you might want to go to along with being able to ask for other locations. If you forget to look here and post on the board most people will be helpful, one or two will point you to the appropriate thread, and you will also get responses such as this everytime (similar to double posts).
Also, here is the link to the google maps page containing all (known) Michigan friendly bars.
I know this will be forgotten by next week, but maybe some people will remember. Also, these always got deleted really quickly last year with the response to just check the correct thread (from the Mods).
