"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."
The SB Team lost its first B1G game of the year at Nebraska. The loss also snapped a 22 game win streak.
We could onlly muster 2 hits off the Husker Star Ace Tatum Edwards. Lauren went deep and long for a solo and Caitlin had a single. That was it, nothing more to say.
Sara and Haylie split the pitching duties and had damned near identical numbers. Both gave up 3 ER, struck out 2 and walked 1. They both gave up a bomb as well.
Overall, not necesarily a bad thing. Good teams are going to lose. It is just a fact of life, but the key is to rebound from it. All we need is to win 2 of the next 5 games or 1 at Nebraska and we share or outright win the regular season.
The Michigan SB Team remains at #9 in all 3 polls (ESPN, Coaches, RPI) this week. The Team had a mercy-rule victory over CMU today at Alumni Field 11-0. All 11 runs came off the bats of two players; Ashley and Romo.
Ashley went 3 for 3 with 6 RBIs and 2 runs scored. She went deep and long TWICE. Romo went 2 for 3 with 5 RBIS and 2 runs scored. She went deep and long TWICE as well. Colie went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.
Haylie was the starting and winning pitcher today. She gave up no runs off 2 hits. She had 6 strikeouts and no walks in 5 innings of work.
A very good outing today against a decent MAC Team 25-14 (11-3). CMU is in second place in the MAC West. We play a CRITICAL 3 game series this weekend in Lincoln Nebraska against the #10 (RPI) 'Huskers. This will certainly be a great test for us. If we win the series, we should secure #9 or even gain in the polls.
Now I promised Brooke Ward that I would not jinx the team by making any bold predictions. On Sunday, I was watching the first game on gametracker while driving down I-94 and heading to the Emily Hepker Fundraiser Game. I texted Brooke and told her that we were going to mercy Iowa before I got there as we were leading 6-0 at the time. Well Iowa came charging back and made it close. So I will refrain from jinxing the team for the rest of the year. Sorry Ladies.
UPDATE: Emily Hepker remains in Minnesota receiving treatment for cancer. She has been there for over 30 days. She is still feeling less than perfect today. She really wants to thank everyone for supporting her. We still have T shirts for sale if anyone would like one. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be the proud owner of the MLE Support Team Shirt.
