"He's a hard worker, and he watched me and Tim (Hardaway Jr.) and Nik (Stauksas) put work in to become (first-round picks), and I'm just happy he's getting better," Burke said. "It's great for the program, too. It shows what type of program the University of Michigan is and the direction it continues to go in."
More Michigan players on watch lists! This time around it is Gibbons on the watch list for Lou Groza, presented annually to the nation's best placekicker.
Thought it was interesting that Eastern Michigan's Dylan Mulder is also on the list.
Apparently he hasn't gotten any D1 offers yet. YET.
Edit: Granted, that thing gets blocked anywhere other than high school, but still a pretty dog gone good leg if you ask me.
Brendan Gibbons has been named to the pre-season watchlist for the Lou Groza award, the award for college football's best kicker (full list here). He is one of seven Big Ten kickers to make it on the watchlist, making up nearly a quarter of the 30 total kickers.
Just the fact that he has made it on this list, after the abysmal season he and our other goal kickers had in 2010, is a testament to how much he has improved as a player in the last two years (and a testament to how much brunette girls have improved him).
