Brady Hoke on Conference Realignment, Roy Roundtree, Kaleb Ringer, the Gentlemen's Agreement, and Beer
Brady Hoke spoke at the Agonis Club's 59th-annual awards banquet in his hometown of Kettering on Tuesday, He spoke on a number of topics including his time at Ball State, the supposed gentlemen's agreement between Big Ten coaches, conference realignment, Kaleb Ringer, and Roy Roundtree.
On his time at Ball St.:
“I had two goals at Ball State. One was to play football and the other was to drink every beer in Muncie, Ind.”
On the Gentlemen's agreement:
“No. 1, we have an actual signing day for a reason. That is, they can change their minds until they sign. This is competitive. This isn’t ... I’d like to say golf — don’t take offense. I’ve never heard of agreements or not agreements. Look, they’re 18 to 23 years old. They got a lot going on, more so now than when I was 18 to 23.”
On conference realignment:
“I think really in about three years you’ll see four super conferences, and I think the Big East will go away and maybe the ACC. But look, I’m just a coach. I don’t know all of it.”
On Kaleb Ringer:
“He had a great spring. He had over a 3.0 (GPA). He did a great job from the academic side of it. He did a nice job of learning the defense. He was awesome. I think he can be in the mix (for playing time).”
On Roy Roundtree:
“He’s doing great. He’s going to wear No. 21 in honor of (Heisman Trophy winner) Desmond Howard. It’s a big deal. Desmond is fired up. Roy is fired up. And I’m fired up.”
I found his comments on conference realignment to be particularly interesting, mainly because you'd think that he'd have some inside information on the topic, via discussion with Dave Brandon and what not. It'll be interesting to see what happens down the road.
Hoke just handles recruiting.
While I realize a majority of you will go "Duh", this is just another example of why this coaching staff is dominating on the recruiting trail.
This is one of our vaunted, committed recruits. I can imagine that the family feel, as well as the full court press an uncommitted guy will get.

EDIT
Michigan Coaches Tour in Chicago Tonight - Mag. Mile Marriott
Chicago Alums/Fans, the Sports-O-Rama is tonight aka the Coaches tour... It was a fun event last year and is for charity (scholarships)/supports the alumni association.
Obviously Hoke, Beilein, and Red will be there...
Several hundred attended last year, and there are tickets available at the door:
Sporting News ranks nation's best coaches... Hoke #24
I get really annoyed when I see people put SIAP, so I won't do that. All I will say is that i used the search function and only found the Big 10 rankings.
So I was listening to the radio on the way in to work this morning and I heard the locals blubbering about Saban being the #1 best coach in America. So I found the article and saw that Hoke comes in at #24.
Other noteworthies/travesties:
Urbs #3
Les Miles #4
Bret Bielema #12
Mork #13
Mack Brown #16
Brian Kelly #18
RR #39

If you are active in one of these clubs, please feel free to add in additional information about what is planned in the comments. For instance, when the UMDC Club hosts these events, it typically includes an auction of coach signed Michigan sports memorabilia to raise funds for the club's scholarship fund.
Brady Hoke speaks at HOF Luncheon Club
Brady Hoke is hitting the road in Ohio today and tomorrow. He spoke to the HOF Luncheon club today which hosts a different figure from football each month. JT was a regular at these things and word is they reached out to Urban but he didn't have a monday open to make it. Coach is also scheduled to attend and speak tomorrow night at Massillon's spring football kickoff dinner. I'm definitely happy to see him hitting the recruiting/PR trail in northeast Ohio so hard - the area produces a ton of D1 talent and any edge over OSU can only help.
