...says Denzel Valentine of Big Ten Tourney favorite MSU, which is 5-7 in its last 12 games. Cumong, man.
It dawned on me in the last day or two (after the Iowa game) that I would not be happy with anything less than an 8-4 this year for the regular season. At the beginning of the year, I was willing to accept 7-5 and then expect better things next year. Now, because it is becoming clearer how the teams in the Big Ten are shaking out, I want to see at least 8-4. If we ended up 8-4 we more than likely would beat Illinois, Purdue, and Penn State and then lose to OSU and Wisconsin. This, to me, would show progress in the Conference (4-4) and also an ability to beat the teams that are in the Conference that we "should" beat. I would not be happy with anything less. Just wondering what others out there would consider satifactory at this point.
