in town for free camps
I know there are people here who still occasionally watch wrestling (Dex, i think, does)...but I was wondering if there were any other casual or fanatic wraslin fans excited for Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker this Sunday. I'm thinking of going to Bdubbs just to witness this epic match.
Seeing how congress has done such a great job in building us a Utopian society, it has now set it's precious time focusing on the huge national problem of how the BCS picks a #1 team. Your tax dollars at work.
If you are in the Battle Creek area, here's a great Valentines day idea for you and your significant other
Just how low has Detroit gone? Read and find out. Pretty spooky if you ask me. And too bad THE WIRE isn't still on. This would have been a perfect scene for the show.
I'm almost embarrassed for asking this on this site but I think I will get the best answer here. That and there's a lot of The Wire references on here.
I have never watched The Wire, but enough people recommended to me, where when I saw a great deal on it I bought the whole series.
So I'm asking on recommendations on how to watch the series. One a day? Season by Season? One every couple of days? I think when I start watching more than a couple a night, its loses something.
Let Me know what you guys think.
I saw Brian mention that he was seeing the Indie Rock band "Mason Proper" when he ran into the fantastic pumpkin doodler....and a couple of years ago he wrote a great post using Sufjan Stevens song "Seven Swans" which I was totally pumped about.
Anyhoo..any other Indie Rock fans out there? Yeah, we're kinda dorky, but whatever you likes you likes. I'm not up for Rap and Metal or Country....I like "sad bastard music" as a friend of mine used to say (note: no longer a friend, but one thing that annoyed me was he loved Kid Rock..which, sure he's funny and cool and all but Jesus his music pisses me off...it's stupid..sorry)...anyway......the real point....any good bands I should check out?
Here's some recent stuff I've been a diggin:
- The Softlights
- Anything by Jenny Lewis..but her solo stuff is kinda country so that's weird...maybe it's because I have the hots for her
- Arrah and the Ferns
- Beirut...weird stuff..makes me think of like 1920's Poland or something
- Los Campesinos!
- Mates of State
- The New Pornographers (sure, not so much "new" but their album "Challengers" is the shit)
- Rogue Wave
