Alright, after you're done taking tiny snippets of interviews/twitters whatever... STOP and actually THINK for a minute.
Tate looked pretty damn good in the Spring game. He is also going to have MONTHS/COUNTLESS REPS on anybody else coming in from today on.
Has he ever gotten snippy/ancy/unsure of his role yet? No. Not even with "DR", WHO IS MOST CERTAINLY COMING and HAS PLAYED FOOTBALL IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS, has Tate ever seemed anything but confident and ready to compete.
His inability to understand/comment on the situation(i.e. "the interview") seems more likely to stem from uncertainty about how "real" the situation is, rather than fear of "what if" should it ACTUALLY occur. Give him some credit. Geez.
Aside from that, "I'd like to believe my coaches, they recruited me", or whatever the exact lingo was, can be taken like, "Man, I'm worried, can I believe my coaches?", or like "I'd like to belive my coaches, you guys don't know what you're talking about." There is no "tone" in a reporting badgering a kid until he regurgitates the same line 15 times.
I'm sure the coaches don't run and tell him/get his OK on every recruiting detail. I'm sure he's aware of it in the periphery, just like the fact that we'd take another Gardner-quality QB in this next class too. No matter who/when they come, I'm sure Tate is bright enough to know that the coaches are always going to tell others that they "will be given a chance to compete."
ALL WILL BE FINE.
How can we pass on a guy who garners this amount of National attention?!! (sarcasm) It smells sorta like Drew Henson's return to football all over again (but seemingly more media exposure)
In all seriousness, is he high-profile enough to be this big of a story? Did Rich Rod anticipate this "circus," and might he back off on Paulus now, or even rescind, because of it? Discuss...
Mitch Mustain 3rd on depth chart at USC...must be nice
Alright, so I can't stand the idea of Greg Paulus coming to Michigan on many, many different levels. I have always supported RichRod and will continue to do so but in my mind this pisses me off so much more than the whole #1 jersey episode, the entire saga about how he told our fans that there are more important things to worry about, and oh, oh yeah, the whole 3-9 thing.
Other than the last part, none of those things pissed me off in anyway. But god damnit, just the thought of bringing this kid in is a total slap in the face to not only our QBs but our entire program. We don't do this at Michigan. You work for what you get. You don't lobby programs through ESPN for a possible starting position when you're potentially only going to be on campus for a semester.
Anyways, do you guys know how we can contact RichRod or the athletic department? I'm very close to emailing Bill Martin about this and I encourage other fans to contact the Athletic Department as well to voice their outrage with this garbage.
Like PTI or Around the Horn or not, that made us look like shit. And I know that we can say that we could care less about what other people think about us but the perception of your program does mean a lot. This is Michigan. And we are the standard that other programs strive to emulate.
Every offseason the Marching Band Director/Staff asks the current band members for suggestions for future shows. I don't have any suggestions that I'm particularly fond of this year, so I thought I would ask the MGOCommunity for suggestions. Basically what I need is a show title or "theme" and 3 or 4 songs that would actually be part of the show.
I'm counting on you guys to come up with some good ideas, I'm tried to hearing how the band doesn't play anything good.
EDIT: Of course, no guarantees that any suggestions will actually make it to the field, but I promise to propose them.
So I was reading Adam Rittenbergs espn big ten blog, and it was talking about osu's line and how Boren has locked up the left tackle spot. My only question is how many people cant wait to see Brandon Graham run all over him, and around?
Being from MD, I am particularly excited about all the offers out that way! Seems like the football is on the up and up in MD which is good to see.
I have seen Zach Zwinak play in person as his high school is about 15 min. from my house and he looks GOOD. Granted that the competition in the area is not elite, but he is head and shoulders above everyone else on the field. It is obvious that his athletic ability is his greatest strength and that he could probably play most anywhere he wants to on the field. Definitely a guy we want, and as a bonus I have heard from many friends that he is a very hardworking and humble guy (which I think means a lot in today's world of ego blown high school football stars).
"MD RB Marcus Coker, who was part of the mass offering of DeMatha players last week, has now confirmed that he’s received an offer from the Wolverines. Still no definitive word on any of the other four guys."
I've got a few friends at Good Counsel, Bullis, and McDonogh (rival schools) so hopefully I'll have more to add in a day or two... but just curious if anyone knows anything more about these kids as of right now?
Heck, while RR is at it... he might as well go for all the MD talent and shoot for St. John's Catholic Prep's J.R. Ferguson. Plus he's a DE.
