alternate headline: man does job
Since it's a painfully slow day, I wanted to see if anyone has finished season 1 of Man in the High Castle. What are your theories about what's going on? How did you like the first season?
Here are a couple of my questions/thoughts:
-Is the resistance unknowingly supplying the films to Hitler the entire time? Is Hitler the leader of the resistance? Since he's hanging out in his Austrian castle in the end of the season, it sure seems he's "the man in the high castle."
-Are the films really just showing alternate universes? Does Tagomi wake up in an alternate universe San Fran at the end? Is he dreaming? What's going to happen next?
I thought the show got pretty slow at times, but the overall concept is great in my opinion. I will say though that the final scene with Tagomi waking up in the alternate San Fran was a bit of a buzzkill, as the show seems to be taking on a "Lost" set of rules.
What say you?
TB fired Lovie Smith Wed night after only two years. A month ago they were in the playoff hunt at 6-6, but then they lost four in a row, finishing as division cellar dwellers for the 5th year in a row, and he gone.
Still, 6 wins is better than 2, so seemingly things were getting better. Apparently not good enough for ownership, though - defense wasn't performing well enough. But who's going to take that job when they have such itchy trigger fingers?
Lions' DC Teryl Austin has been making the rounds, interviewing with the Dolphins and Browns. He's going to interview with the Eagles and Giants. So I suppose the Bucs will come calling next.
In a press conference today, Calvin Johnson announced that he is considering retirement, and should have a decision coming by next week.
He's been injured on and off the past couple seasons, but as the Lions best player, it would leave a huge hole.
Also, typical Lions...
Following the recent string of OSU defections, it was just announced that Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo is leaving NCIS after 13 years to pursue other opportunities. As everyone is painfully aware, DiNozzo is an OSU grad who occasionally wears scarlet and grey gear.
The "retirement" came four days after he pleaded guilty to a DUI.
The NCIS show will continue under the steady guidance of Leroy Jethro Gibbs played by Mark Harmon, son of Michigan Heisman winner Tom Harmon and Uncle to Devin Gardner.
OK, the last part was /s.
Happy New Year! We had a little bit of interest for the UFC 194 thread, so I figured I would carry on the tradition. If you're not a ufc fan, tell me what you're drinking! Pretty decent card tonight. I have Robbie, Stipe, Tumenov and Ortega. My two favorite bets are Dustin Poirier +160 and Justine Kish -210. Let's make some money tonight! Who ya got?? I'm drinking some left over Miller Lite and Bud Light Lime
