OT-Red Wings fans attempting flashmob
The Production Line is saying that there is going to be a tinfoil hat flashmob tonight at the Gordie Howe entrance of The Joe. The flashmob is protesting the officiating in game two in San Jose on Sunday night. If anyone watched the game they know how bad the officiating was against Detroit, especially in the third period.
Personally, it is nice to see the fans are protesting against the officials, but will it really change anything? No game two is over and the Wings just need to come out and say fuck the officials and play their game. If the officials get out of hand i think the league should come out and say something, but i doubt Bettman would say shit.

The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team saw its 16-match win streak come to end, falling, 4-0, to No. 5 Northwestern on Sunday (May 2) in the Big Ten Tournament final... Northwestern won the doubles point and the first three singles matches to win the tournament title.
The Wolverines will now await word on postseason selection. The NCAA selection will take place on Tuesday (May 4), with NCAA Regional action beginning Friday, May 14, at 16 campus sites.
The team is 13 - 10 in all competitions this season and was 8 - 2 in the Big 10 in conference play good enough for 3rd place. In the Big 10 tournament:
In the second... semifinal, the No. 25-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team lost to No. 14 Illinois, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon (May 1)...
With the regular season and Big Ten Conference play behind them, the Wolverines turn their attention to the NCAA Championships in two weeks, beginning Friday, May 14. As a top 25 team, Michigan looks to return to the tournament for the fifth straight season under head coach Bruce Berque. The NCAA will announce the pairings this Tuesday (May 4) on ESPNEWS at 5 p.m.
Paced by sophomore Matt Thompson's (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) medalist runner-up and freshman Jack Schultz's (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) fifth-place finish, the University of Michigan men's golf team tallied a 1,173 72-hole total to finish fourth at the 2010 Big Ten Championship today (Sunday, May 2) at Windsong Farm Golf Club.
Thompson's runner-up finish marks the highest finish for a Wolverine since Michael Harris (1997-2000) shared medalist honors at the 1999 event. Thompson's one-under 283 championships total gives him the second-best 72-hole total in U-M history, trailing Harris' record of 278 set in 1999.
Michigan will have to wait another week before learning if it will be selected for U-M's third straight NCAA at-large berth when regional selections are announced Monday (May 10) at 6 p.m.
University of Michigan senior captain Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc HS) ended her record-breaking run at the 2010 Big Ten Championships today (Sunday, April 25) as the medalist runner-up to equal U-M's best all-time finish at the conference event, posting a school-record, five-under-par total of 283 at University Ridge Golf Course. With a 317 team score in the final round, U-M maintained its eighth-place position, closing with a 1228 total (311-301-299-317) for 72 holes.
In an eventful three days, Bauer put herself in contention for medalist honors by shooting a U-M and Big Ten-record seven-under 65 in the second round, giving her a one-shot lead after 36 holes. She maintained her lead after 54 holes, posting a third-round 71.
For her efforts all season long and at the championships, Bauer was named All-Big Ten first team, becoming just the seventh Wolverine to earn the honor. She was a second team all-conference honoree in 2009.
[Bauer] was selected... as an invited individual participant for the 2010 NCAA Central Regional. The Central Regional will be Thursday through Saturday, May 6-8, at Ottercreek Golf Course, Columbus, Ind., hosted by Indiana. The Wolverines as a team were not selected for an at-large bid.
The University of Michigan women's rowing team collected a third-place team finish at the 2010 Big Ten Conference Championships on Saturday (May 1) at Lake Ovid. U-M put three crews on the medal stand led by second-place finishes from the second varsity eight and the novice eight. The varsity four earned a bronze medal.

OT - Start to Detroit Tiger's season

3 vs Boston
I thought they needed to go 16-14 in this stretch to prove they would be contenders. So far they are 10-7, so they need to go 6-7 in the next 2 weeks. I think we are in for another exciting summer of Tiger baseball.
Brandon Minor bears down
I know this is from the paper that shall not be named, but things are sounding good for our boy. He has the right attitude. As a Bears fan, I am pleased at his chances... Greg Mathews, not so much...
Avatar help (can't find old post how-to)
Can anyone please point me the way. I've searched every keyword I can think of... no luck.
There was a post about troubleshooting a new avatar, and in it a link to a site that you can convert it to the correct filesize. If anyone knows any online sites...
I've got the right size 85x85, but FILESIZE if 3.85kB, need to get it to 1kB.
Thanks in advance.
OT-Let's talk boxing
Although the result was not altogether unpredictable, last nights one sided debacle left a sour, unfinished, taste in my mouth. I'm looking for top five, top five fights you have seen in your lifetime. Of course, the sole basis for dicussion is not just what happenned within the ring at the moment of truth, pre-fight hype, press-conferences, personalities, and historical significant all enter into the equation here, so all formulas are acceptable. There are some parameters, if you saw the fight one year after live on Showtime, you can say that you witnessed it, but unless you were actually alive and not an infant at the time, you cannot include it. Like me, though sure I saw Will Smith in a pretty good immitation of the "Rumble in the Jungle," it is not a fight that I have "witnessed" in good faith. Just the one rule and regulation. Happy Sunday night discussion.....
4. Mike Tyson v. Lenix Lewis, Memphis 2002: This did not live up to its billing, but I cannot remember a fight that I was this exciited to see. From the pressers, to the ring walks, to the intros, absolute drama from go. To see Tyson destroyed to the extent that he was after winning Round 1, I truly reaized that the greatest fighter than I and a lot of us had ever seen had given up, and lost it completely. In other news, Lenix Lewis can fight afterall...
4. Mike Tyson v. Buster Douglas, Tokyo 1991: Some may not remember this, but Buster got saved by the bellhard, horecore, in the 9th. Took a seriously combination, with a right handed uppercut finale late in that round, Mike was on the prowl only too be silenced by the bell. This fact does not underscore what this fight was about, however. Those watched that absolute f#%king shocker witnessed the dissolution of a legend, this Mike Tyson needed that hug from the ref when his mouthguard flew out, the ref was the only one left to hug.
..
4. Margerito v. Cotto, Las Vegas 2008: Alright, Margerito was likely completely cheating, and that has to be taken into account when determining its legitimacy, but WOW was this a battle. Cotto with combo after combo, and landing time after time. Bam, Bam, Bam, Margerito walks right threw it, searches and destroys, I wanted Cotto to stay down on that knee, enough is enough.
3. Castillo v. Corrales I, Las Vegas 2005: The tenth round was the single most incredible 2 minutes of boxing that I have ever seen. Corrales was the cadillac, and you knew it the entire time that you were watching, but Castillo was in it for the long hual. That was one of the mist resilant fighters I have ever seen, he almost had Corrales laid out a few times. But wowe Diego, that was one minute of rage that was stored up from child hood, just let him have it. (Rest it peace)
2. Leanord v. Hagler, Las Vegas 1987: Not much commentary needed. The refs got it right, Hagler bullied him for a minute here and a minute there, but he could not catch him, and Leanord was landing combos almost immediately and consistenly. Sugar Ray was a lot of flash and dash, but there was some substance there, and Marvelous Marvin learned it the hardway.
Happy Sunday!!
