“The player development is the main thing I like (about Michigan),” Williams said. “You can see that they develop their players. They get them in the gym and they work them hard. And their hard work pays off.”
So apparently today is Hash Bash and surprisingly no one has posted about it on MGoBlog.
I graduated in 2007 and remember thinking that Hash Bash was fizzling out and not that big of a deal anymore. I went to Charley's for a drink this afternoon and South U was packed with Hash Bash folk. I also parked in the S Forest structure and spent 30 minutes waiting in line to get out. Is Hash Bash "back" or am I crazy for thinking it was dying out in the first place?
On a side note, I'm kind of bored so I'll throw this out there: what do the MGoDenizens think of Hash Bash? I don't smoke at all but I think Hash Bash is pretty cool. I like the idea that Ann Arbor can be home to one of the best universities in the world and also be home to...well...the opposite of academic rigor (sorry for stereotyping). It just goes to show how diverse this city is and how much it has to offer.
Lastly, does anyone have any good Hash Bash stories?
His father, Jerry Avant , died after he lost control of his car and ran into multiple trees.
The M SB team won the first game of a DH against Indiana. The score was 2 to 1. The game for tomorrow was bumped to this afternoon to avoid a possible rainout tomorrow. Caitlyn Blanchard hit a bomb to RF with the help of a brisk wind. JT was on the mound for M and pitched well considering the weather. Indiana scored on a bad call (in my opinion) but we still hung in there and JT shut Indiana down. The wind played hell all day by switching around. There was some sleet in the 6th inning but the MGOGrounds crew did a great job between innings. More to come from the 2nd game
Semifinal in Miami starting right now. Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal. Gotta love when these two play, it has become quite a rivalry.
Let's go Roger!
Butch Woolfolk is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday April 9th to support an undergraduate scholarship that he started in 2007. Its being held at Forest Grill in Birmingham, Michigan. I had to leave a message and someone got back to me.
No word on whether there will be a T-Woolf sighting or not but Butch and his wife are flying in from Texas for this event. Who knows.
The ice has finally melted and it's almost time for finals. This can mean only one thing: Walleye fishing. On April 17th, The U of M Fishing Club and the MSU Fishing Club will compete in their annual "Rusty Reel" fishing tournament. It will feature members of both clubs fighting for the rusty reel trophy on the Detroit River. Last year, the Michigan club nearly doubled (!) the weight of the MSU club by a weight of 47 lbs to 25 lbs.
I just wanted to make the mgoblog community aware that there is, in fact, a fishing club at the University. Check us out at: http://sitemaker.umich.edu/bassfishing/home or our facebook page: "Michigan Fishing Club".
