I thought this nice story would be worth posting:
Michigan State University has suspended longtime women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages in the midst of a sexual assault investigation related to former team doctor Larry Nassar, according to an email the State Journal obtained.
So much awfulness going over there it's hard to keep track.
Team 40 finshed the weekend with a win over St John's 12-2, in mercy-rule fashion. However, the start of the season was less than ideal, going 3-2 for the Tourney. The pitching this weekend certainly needs to improve. The pitching staff allowed 22 base on balls in 5 games. This is unacceptable considering we played the likes of Delaware and St Johns.
Today, the pitching duties were split between Tera Blanco and Leah Crockett. Tera picked up the win by pitching 3 innings, giving up no runs and 2 hits. She struck out 1 and walked 3. Leah pitched the remaining 2 innings, giving up 2 runs, both earned, on 6 hits. She also had 1 strike out and 3 BB.
The offense was lead by Kelly Christner who went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. So. Natalie Peters, So. Faith Canfield, Jr. Aidan Falk, and So. Alex Sobczak, finished with 2 hits each.
Next weekend the team travels to Raleigh N.C. for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and willl play NC State and Notre Dame twice. This will be a fun tourney for the ladies.
I don't normally post, but a buddy sent me this gem. I thought it was quite amusing:
"Recruiter called yesterday told me she had .net developer position doing work in "The C Pound". Now, normally, I just hang up on recruiters, but when she said "The C Pound", I needed to know more. So, I politely corrected her and said "it is just called C sharp, but it is written as the letter C with a pound sign." She continued on with her little phone talking points but through the whole thing she kept calling it "The C Sharp." I declined her request to know more but I did ask where she attended school, and yes it was "The Ohio State University." This made my day."
And someone responded with this gem:
"Someone asked me the other day if I was looking to relocate to the Columbus OH area. I had to decline her and let her know that nobody is ever actually trying to relocate there..."
Happy OT Season!
Edit: C# is a computer programming language - the recruiter kept calling it "C pound" instead of C-sharp and she kept adding "The" in front of it.
The SB Team continues their tourney in Tampa today. The Team lost to Floriday 2-1 in 10 Innings. Megan Betsa get the loss by pitching all 10 innings. She finished with 6 hits, 12 Ks and 6 BB.
Kelly Christner had 2 hits, while Aidan Falk (RBI) and Courtney Richardson each had 1 hit.
Overall it was a hard-fought game that could have went either way. Florida scored was able to score in the 10th with a single to CF. We SAC Monte over to 3B with 1 out. However, we just could not come up with the key hit in the 10th.
In the 2nd game today, Team 40 dropped a duece against #25 USF 6-4. Tera Blanco was the starting and losing pitcher. She gave up 6 runs (4 ER) on 9 hits. She struck out 2 and walked 2.
Kelly Christner went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a BB. Abby Ramirez went 1 for 4 with a run scored.
Gents, hope you are all enjoying your Saturday.
My fiancee's aunt is dealing with some health issues and started a GoFundMe to help cover some of the cost earlier this week. I know these get old on the blog, willing to take a bashing to make her happy. Husband in training, right?
Thank you for anything, go blue
