Have you ever been fitted for Golf Clubs?
If so , how much has it improved your game?
I've been playing with a $200 Starter
Set for about 5 years now and am ready
Hopefully I can make time this week and
get it done at Miles of Golf. I was wondering what
to expect other than paying a lot of $$$.
Well it seems last year was a fine year for Michigan Athletics both on AND off the field.
While on the field, Michigan came in 3rd nationally for the Directors Cup... Off the field, they excelled in the class room as well with 66 Michigan athletes earning recognition as a B1G Distinguished Scholar. The award is giving to those athletes who earn a 3.7 GPA or higher in their course work over the previous year, with eight logging a perfect 4.0.
The 66 Distinguished Scholars are the most in school history and the first time topping 60 individuals since the honor started in 2009.
It's the sixth straight year U-M has increased its total with 57 in '15, 55 in '14, 53 in '13, 49 in '12 and 37 in 2011.
Congratulations to these fine athlete-scholars!!
As any of you who have attended Michigan know, obtaining a 3.7 is an excellent accomplishment in itself but add to that the rigors of training and participating in their sport and these individuals are truely representative of Michigan's Student-Athlete ideal:
Leaders and Best, both on and off the field.
Picked up a 4pack of Dogfish head 90min (that way I can tell my wife it's only 4 beers) and getting ready to watch UFC 200. There's a lot of interesting matchups. I'll spare you my armchair analysis and just make my predictions.
Miesha over Nunes, but I'm staying away from it. I love betting Meisha as a dog, but I never like her value as a favorite.
I'm taking Brock over Hunt- 25% because I'm an idiot, 25% because I just can't help myself, 50% because he's so damn big. Hunt packs a punch, but he's not getting off the mat with Brock's big ass laying on him
I think Cormier will win by brutal ground and pound, but there's good value on betting Silva.
Edgar wins but I'll be cheering for Aldo.
For prelims I like Pena & Hendricks. I'm taking Assuncao and I'm sure Sage is being fed a cupcake to shake back from his loss.
Who ya got??
Serena Williams won her 22nd Grand Slam today, straight sets over some other tennis player.
I've heard it debated before so I'll toss it out here. Is she she greatest female athlete ever (any sport)? She first attained the wold #1 ranking in 2002; and it's 14 years later and she's #1 again. Hasn't been there consistently, but over and over.
Is she the greatest woman tennis player ever? Given the longevity of her career--probably. I guess you can quesiton if she's had the rivals that prior players have had; or, you could say, she's been so dominant no one could match her. As the money in tennis keeps going up over time, and training and medicine improve, I find it hard to believe that the overall quality of tennis players has dropped. So I'd say, it's hard to argue she's the best female tennis player ever.
Is she the best woman athlete ever? Tennis players will tell you, their sports is the most gruelling and requires the most athleticism. It's hard to think of someone who's dominated her sport for as long as she has. But then again, most womens' sports haven't had the level of professional ranks like tennis, so it's hard to be a woman athlete and "dominant" into your 30s if yo'ure not a golfer or tennis player.
But I guess to me this is the proof: Who else would you say instead of Serena? I can't think of anyone, other than maybe tennis players, but since I think she's the greatest of all tennis players that means she has no other rivals from other sports.
I think it's safe to say we all share a love for Michigan Football, and Michigan in general around here. But I noticed a lot of "TV talk" as well. With Game Of Thrones ending for a while now, just thought I'd ask the board for some help finding a new show to watch to hold me over for the next couple months while we wait for football season to kick in.
Maybe a Top 3 from everybody?
