Hutch on cranking the pitching machines up to eleven during a recent practice:
It’s not about making them feel good every day. It’s about how they respond because when the game comes, nobody feels good unless things go your way. We try to make practice harder than the game. I don’t know if we accomplished it. I have no idea. I’ll find out.
All American LF Kelly Christner on the attitude around practice:
Basically every practice, she would be like, ‘You guys have not earned one thing yet,’ Really making us focus on going out every single game no matter who we’re playing, no matter what the situation is, if we’re winning or losing, just really going 100 percent constantly. That’s helped us.
There's some actual talk about progression at the catcher spot and on pitching. Softball opens Friday morning against Virginia Tech in Tampa and plays #1 Florida the next morning.
They may not have an actual accomplishment yet, but expectations cannot get any higher for 2016, and for good reason.
The OT season is kind of here, and will be in earnest when the MBB team is done with the NCAA's. We have some pretty creative, interesting and humorous folks on the board and it occured to me that it might be a good idea during the OT season to have a regular 'MGoBlogger Monday Profile' segment. I figure we could do a few of you at one time and that I'd start by picking folks using some combination of seniority and points and work my way through as many as reasonably could be done during the off months. I know there were a few profiles done years ago but none for quite a while. and many new characters are here.
So my questions are these:
1. Good idea or 'meh/pass/stupid'?
2. If good idea, then what general questions/areas would you want to get into? No creepy/stalker/perv stuff (I'm looking at a few of you right now...), but what areas to ask about? Maybe family, job, how became a Michigan fan, hobbies (besides M football, etc), favorite Michigan memory, maybe some wild card questions like 'if you could live any place', or 'have any job' or something along those lines.
Have a great weekend. Super bowl on Sunday.
This guy was awesome. My friends and I had a lot of good memeories growing up watching Mirra. From playing his video games on PS2 to watching him on TV when the X Games were cooler to watch. He'll be missed.
First time I saw Pearl Jam was at the Crisler Arena so there's my "Michigan connection" to posting this.
Probably really showing my age here, but I'm sure I'm not the only Pearl Jam fan around this board. This band is by far my favorite all-time band to listen to, and see in concert. I just can't believe ...... 25 years?? That's crazy in itself. But anyway, they are playing at Wrigley field in August that I have made it very clear to my wife that this would be an excellent date night!
I'm looking forward to this one, especially hearing more about the Ditka/Ryan feud. One of the greatest teams of all time and some of the wildest personalities in NFL history.
