I know Brian et al. take a lot of crap at times for 502 errors and app issues, but I also think it's worth noting that the site is much faster over the past few days, and the app problem was fixed. Brian mentioned that bots were causing a lot of the frustration with 502 errors. So thanks to Brian, his brother, the app developer, and whoever else put time into getting some of those problems worked out. Michigan had a basketball game and rumors flying around about Tyrone Wheatley, Jr., and I haven't encountered one 502 error.
I rarely contribute to nonsense OT season but since both football and basketball seasons are over... Migos have the #1 song on Billboard. I remember a youthful energy football coach launching them into the mainstream. Everything he touches turns to gold....
You can search, download the text, images, or PDFs. It's really pretty amazing.
You can read, for example, about the proposed changes in football rules in the spring of 1895 (https://digital.bentley.umich.edu/midaily/mdp.39015071730654/535) or about the lack of enthusiasm about football in 1894 (https://digital.bentley.umich.edu/midaily/mdp.39015071730654/116):
Yesterday's football practice was in a drizzling rain, and not enough candidates were out to make up two elevens.
The old advertisements are also really neat. It's an amazing resource!
They need to find a new Mike for Mike & Mike, because Mike Greenberg is leaving the ESPN Radio Show for TV. Always enjoy him in the morning. Pretty vanilla national show.
ESPN brass is transferring "Greenie" to lead a morning newsy/talky TV show. Unclear if Golic stays on the radio, or if the show gets entirely new talent. Golic Jr. potentially in running for that. WOTS is this will happen "sooner rather than later."
Lots of folks here bash M&M a lot, but I also suspect a lot of us listen to them driving to work each morning. I find myself disagreeing with them (esp Greenie) far more often than nodding in approval. Golic pretty much is Mr. Obvious. They are huge Harbaugh fans, esp Greenie.
IIRC, they are in the radio hall of fame, their show has been on for nearly two decades. It's easy to decry them as uninformed / generic talking heads, but it's still a pretty impressive run they've had. And a few good moments too (Greenie milking the cow was effing classic).
